Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail

Jingliu is still one of the most powerful units in Honkai Star Rail, so here’s how to build her with the best Light Cone, Relic sets, and teammates.

Players who missed Jingliu during her debut in Honkai Star Rail are spending all their Stellar Jade to get this powerful character on her re-run banner.

If you’re one of the lucky ones who pulled her in Honkai Star Rail’s gacha system, here’s how to build Jingliu with the best Light Cone, Relic sets, and teammates in HoYoverse’s RPG.

Jingliu’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail explained

Jingliu is a five-star Honkai Star Rail Ice element character in the Path of The Destruction. This means Jingliu specializes in dealing damage with both single-target and AoE (Area of Effect) attacks. She’s boosted in the second phase of update 2.1 with a re-run of her own banner titled Gentle Eclipse of the Moon.

Below are all of Jingliu’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail:

  • Lucent Moonglow (Basic attack) – Deals Ice DMG to a single enemy.
  • Moon On Glacial River (Skill) – Deals Ice DMG to a single enemy and adjacent enemies. This consumes one stack of Syzygy but doesn’t consume Skill Points.
  • Transcendent Flash (Skill) – Deals Ice DMG to a single enemy and obtains one stacks of Syzygy.
  • Florephemeral Dreamflux (Ultimate) – Deals massive Ice DMG to a single enemy and a bit less to adjacent enemies. Additionally, gains one stack of Syzygy after attack ends.
  • Crescent Transmigration (Talent) – When Jingliu has two stacks of Syzygy, she enters the Spectral Transmigration state. This makes her Actions Advance by 100% and her CRIT Rate increases by up to 52%. Then, Jingliu’s Skill becomes enhanced and turns into “Moon On Glacial River,” and becomes the only ability she can use in battle. When Jingliu uses an attack in the Spectral Transmigration state, she consumes HP from her allies (4% of their respective Max HP). Jingliu’s ATK increases by 540% of the total HP consumed from all allies, lasting until the current attack ends. Syzygy can stack up to three times. When Syzygy stacks are depleted, Jingliu will exit the Spectral Transmigration state.
  • Shine of Truth (Technique) – After using this Technique, creates a dimension around Jingliu that lasts for 20 seconds, and all enemies in this dimension will become Frozen. After entering combat with those enemies, Jingliu immediately regenerates 15 Energy and obtains one stack of Syzygy, freezing enemy targets for one turn. While Frozen, enemy targets cannot take action, and they receive additional Ice DMG at the start of every turn.

Jingliu’s abilities make her extremely resourceful in battle, but they also pose some risks for her allies. Since she can’t really deplete her allies’ entire HP, you should be fine as long as you have a healer on your team.

That said, Jingliu is all about damage, meaning you should always try to improve her CRIT DMG, ATK, and Ice DMG, for starters. Enhancing her SPD can also come in handy in battle, so keep that in mind. Jingliu doesn’t rely on Skill Points that much, so that gives you plenty of room to improve her DMG output in different ways.

Best Relics for Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail

Hunter of Glacial Forest

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases Ice DMG by 10%.
  • Four-piece bonus: After the wearer unleashes their Ultimate, their CRIT DMG increases by 25% for 2 turns.

Since Jingliu is an Ice character in Honkai Star Rail, Hunter of Glacial Forest is the perfect Relic set for her. The complete set will increase her Ice DMG alongside her CRIT DMG after using her Ultimate. Considering her abilities this means she can be unstoppable after unleashing her Ultimate. However, you can also combine a two-piece set with another for different effects.

Musketeer of Wild Wheat

  • Two-piece bonus: ATK increases by 12%.
  • Four-piece bonus: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

Whether you’ve been playing Honkai Star Rail since launch or you just joined the party on PlayStation 5, Musketeer of Wild Wheat is the easiest Relic set you can get. Since it’s all about improving ATK, it works great with Jingliu. We don’t recommend going all the way with the four-piece set, but combining it with Hunter of Glacial Forest can be a great move.

Thief of Shooting Meteor

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
  • Four-piece bonus: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 16%. When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, regenerates 3 Energy.

While Thief of Shooting Meteor isn’t anyone’s first choice, it’s another accessible Relic set. Increasing Jingliu’s Break Effect can come in handy when dealing with enemies that are weak to the Ice element.

Best Planar Ornament for Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail

Rutilant Arena seems to be the best Planar Ornament for Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail. With the two-piece set, you can increase her CRIT Rate by 8%. Additionally, when Jingliu’s current CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, her Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%. With Rutilant Arena you’d be improving Jingliu’s capabilities in the best possible way.

Of course, Space Sealing Station is another interesting option. This Planar Ornament increases the wearer’s ATK by 12% for starters, and when their SPD reaches 120 or higher, their ATK increases again by another 12%.

Lastly, Celestial Differentiator can also work great with Jingliu. In this case, you’ll be increasing her CRIT DMG by 16%. But that’s not all, because when Jingliu’s current CRIT DMG reaches 120% or higher, after entering battle, her CRIT Rate will also increase by 60% until the end of her first attack.

Best Light Cone for Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail

I Shall Be My Own Sword

Like every five-star character before and after her, Jingliu debuted in Honkai Star Rail alongside her own Light Cone. This weapon increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by up to 32%. Then, when an ally gets attacked or loses HP, the wearer gains one stack of Eclipse, up to a max of three stacks.

Each stack of Eclipse increases the DMG of the wearer’s next attack by up to 24%. When the maximum stacks are reached, the wearer’s attack can ignore up to 20% of the enemy’s DEF. This effect will be removed after the wearer’s attack. This is great considering Jingliu can inflict DMG to her own allies.

On the Fall of an Aeon

This is a pretty straightforward Light Cone that increases the ATK by up to 16% whenever Jingliu attacks. This effect can stack up to 4 times, but that’s not all. When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer’s DMG increases by up to 24% for two turns.

Something Irreplaceable

Clara‘s Light Cone is another great option for characters in the Path of the Destruction. It increases the wearer’s ATK by up to 40%, and when the wearer defeats an enemy or is hit, immediately restores some HP. What’s more, the wearer’s DMG also increases by up to 40% until the end of their next turn. This effect can only be triggered once per turn, but it’s more than enough to deal some serious DMG.

Best Honkai Star Rail teams for Jingliu

As we mentioned, Jingliu is all about damage dealing in Honkai Star Rail, meaning she can be the main DPS on your team. Starting from there, you should pair her up with at least one support character and a healer. The fourth character can be either a support character, a shielder, or another damage dealer, so let’s take a look at your options.

For support characters, both Asta and Bronya can help Jingliu a lot. The former can buff Jingliu’s ATK and SPD, while Bronya can increase her DMG and make her participate in battle more often. On the other hand, if you have a built Pela, you can take advantage of her Ice debuffs to deal with enemies a lot faster.

Since Jingliu can drain your own party’s HP, a healer is a must. Natasha and Lynx are the only free-to-play healers, so you can pick any of them if you don’t have any alternative. The best healer to pair Jingliu with is Luocha, but Bailu or Huohuo can work as well.

If you think Jingliu is not enough to deal with your enemies, you can pair her with another DPS or Sub-DPS. Both Arlan and Blade benefit from taking damage, so they’re the best options in this case. Keep in mind that it’s a risky bet, but it can pay off big time if you manage to master this composition.
