Sparkle’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail explained

Sparkle is a five-star Quantum element character in the Path of The Harmony in Honkai Star Rail. This means she specializes in providing boosts to allies’ abilities as a support character. Sparkle is boosted in the second phase of update 2.0 in her own banner.

Here are all of Sparkle’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail:

  • Monodrama (Basic ATK) – Deals Quantum DMG to a single enemy.
  • Dreamdiver (Skill) – Increases the CRIT DMG of an ally based on Sparkle’s CRIT DMG for 1 turn. Also, Advances the unit’s action Forward by 50%. If Sparkle uses this ability on herself, the Action Advance will not trigger.
  • The Hero with a Thousand Faces (Ultimate) – Recovers 4 Skill Points for the team and grants them ‘Cipher.’ When allies with ‘Cipher’ trigger the DMG boost effect from Sparkle’s Talent, each stack additionally increases its effect for 2 turns.
  • Red Herring (Talent) – When Sparkle is on the battlefield, increases the max number of Skill Points by 2. When an ally consumes 1 Skill Point, increase the DMG of all allies by up to 6.6% for 2 turns. This effect can be stacked up to 3 times.
  • Unreliable Narrator (Technique) – Grants all allies Misdirect for 20 seconds. Characters with Misdirect aren’t detected by enemies. What’s more, entering battle in the Misdirect state recovers 3 Skill Points.

As a five-star character, Sparkle can be a total game-changer. While her abilities are interesting, her Ultimate and her Talent are the most relevant parts of the kit. She can work well with characters that can consume many skill points per turn and with characters in the Path of The Destruction or The Erudition when they deal AoE damage.

The main stats you should keep in mind are Sparkle’s SPD and Energy Regen, so she can participate often in battle and cast her Ultimate more often. While many HSR players focus on dealing damage, generating additional Skill Points or giving allies more turns are extremely useful abilities you should also consider. Additionally, enhancing her CRIT DMG will make her Skill more powerful, so keep that in mind.

Best Relics for Sparkle in Honkai Star Rail

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases SPD by 6%.
  • Four-piece bonus: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn. This effect cannot be stacked.

As we mentioned, Sparkle’s SPD should be a priority when building her, so Messenger Traversing Hackerspace is a great Relic for her. The full set is a great pick since it can give her even more supporting abilities in battle on top of her DMG boost.

Eagle of Twilight Line

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.
  • Four-piece bonus: After the wearer uses Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.

While increasing Sparkle’s Wind DMG isn’t going to do anything for you, the full set of Eagle of Twilight Line can be really helpful. Instead of increasing Sparkle’s SPD, you’ll be Advancing her action Forward every time she uses her Ultimate, so the outcome will be similar.

Sadly, no other Relic set seems to work with Sparkle as these two, so you should stick to these recommendations.

Best Planar Ornament for Sparkle in Honkai Star Rail

Broken Keel is a good Planar Ornament for Sparkle in Honkai Star Rail. It increases her Effect RES by 10%, and when her Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%. This improves Sparkle’s kit by increasing all allies’ CRIT DMG further.

Penacony, Land of the Dreams is a great alternative because it increases Sparkle’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5% for starters. What’s more, this Planar Ornament also increases DMG by 10% for all other allies that are of the same Type as the wearer. This is great for players with mono-Quantum teams.

Celestial Differentiator increases Sparkle’s Crit DMG by 16%, and if her Crit DMG stat exceeds 120% or higher, her Crit Rate is also increased. While it’s not important to increase Sparkle’s Crit Rate, enhancing her Crit DMG will make her Skill even more powerful in battle.

Best Light Cone for Sparkle in Honkai Star Rail

Earthly Escapade

Every five-star unit in Honkai Star Rail has their own Light Cone, and Sparkle is no exception. Earthly Escapade increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG for starters, which is already good for Sparkle. Then, at the start of the battle, the wearer gains ‘Mask’ for 3 turns. As long as the wearer has ‘Mask,’ allies have their CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG increased by different amounts.

Additionally, for every 1 Skill Point the wearer recovers, they gain 1 stack of ‘Radiant Flame.’ Then, when they reach 4 stacks of ‘Radiant Flame,’ all the stacks are removed and replaced with Mask for 4 turns. This Light Cone is certainly one of the best for Harmony characters, so don’t miss your chance to get it.

But the Battle Isn’t Over

This is Bronya‘s signature Light Cone, and it increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate for starters. Then, it builds on Sparkle’s abilities by regenerating 1 Skill Point when the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally. What’s more, when they use their Skill, the next ally taking action deals 30% more DMG for one turn. Considering Sparkle’s Skill already enhances her allies’ Crit DMG, this Light Cone is a great choice.

Past and Future

If you’re looking for four-star Light Cones, Past and Future is an interesting option. When Sparkle uses her Skill, the next ally taking action deals up to 32% increased DMG for 1 turn. Again, you’d be enhancing Sparkle’s Skill by increasing her allies’ DMG output, which is ideal.

Lastly, the Dreamville Adventure Light Cone is perfect for Sparkle if she’s part of a mono-Quantum team, so keep that in mind.

Best Honkai Star Rail teams for Sparkle

Since Sparkle is a support character in Honkai Star Rail, your priority should be finding the perfect DPS for her. Qingque is a great pick and can benefit greatly from Sparkle’s boosts and Skill Point recovery. If you’re going for a mono-Quantum team, you can also add Fu Xuan and Silver Wolf to cover all possible roles.

Alternatively, another great DPS for Sparkle is Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. Combining Sparkle’s abilities with his kit will make you stop worrying about Skill Points while you decimate enemies. In this team, you can also add Fu Xuan as healer/tank, but you can go with Luocha or Lynx as well.

Lastly, you always have the choice of adding another support unit to enhance other abilities in the team or adding another DPS to make sure no enemy escapes your attacks. Tingyun or Asta are great support characters to pair with Sparkle, while Seele and Xueyi are the best DPS for her, especially in a mono-Quantum team.
