HoYoverseHonkai Star Rail is gearing up to introduce players to Jingliu, a new character coming soon to HoYoverse’s RPG. Here’s everything we know about her so far, including leaked abilities, her official release date, and more.
Honkai Star Rail players already have many different characters to try, but HoYoverse’s RPG is just getting started, according to numerous leaks and rumors. Future updates and events will bring plenty of powerful characters for players to try their luck with, and a couple of official trailers already revealed one of them: Jingliu.
Jing Yuan’s master is finally coming to Honkai Star Rail, so here’s everything we know about the character, including her official release date and her abilities.

Who is Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail?
HoYoverse have confirmed that Jingliu is a five-star character in Honkai Star Rail. She’s an Ice element character in the Path of The Destruction, meaning the character will be a great asset when dealing damage to many enemies at a time.
As the Honkai Star Rail trailer shows, Jingliu was Jing Yuan‘s master before being struck by Mara and driven into madness. She had to deal with her own master and instructed Jing Yuan to be ready when and if the time came. It is not yet known which version of Jingliu players will be able to play.
On August 15, HoYoverse shared Jingliu’s character card, revealing she’s “one of the legendary heroes making up the High-Cloud Quintet.” On October 6, devs revealed even more information about this highly anticipated character
Jingliu Honkai Star Rail release date
Jingliu will arrive in Honkai Star Rail with the version 1.4 update scheduled for October 11, 2023. She’ll debut right before Topaz, another highly-anticipated character.
Jing Yuan already headlined the character banner on May 17, so it makes sense that this new character would arrive soon. Both Jingliu and Topaz received their official character cards in August and will debut in update 1.4 alongside Guinaifen.
All Honkai Star Rail Jingliu leaked abilities
Trusted leaker ThorisIlian shared Jingliu’s abilities on Reddit shortly after the Honkai Star Rail trailer was released. Below, you’ll find all of Jingliu’s abilities in the game, but keep in mind that none of this information has been officially confirmed by HoYoverse yet.
- Lucent Moonglow (Basic attack) – Deals Ice DMG to a single enemy.
- Transcendent Flash (Skill) – Deals Ice DMG to an enemy and gains two stacks of ‘New Moon’.
- Precipitous Blossoms, Fleeting as Stellar Dreams (Ultimate) – Deals Ice DMG to one enemy and surrounding enemies. If Jingliu is in the ‘Transcendence’ state, she gains two stacks of ‘Moonlight’ after attacking. If not, she gains two stacks of ‘New Moon.’
- Crescent Transmigration (Talent) – With four stacks of ‘New Moon’, Jingliu enters the ‘Transcendence’ state and sacrifices her and the party’s HP to increase her ATK. During the ‘Transcendence’ state, ‘New Moon’ turns into ‘Moonlight’ and Jingliu enhances her skill. She leaves the ‘Transcendence’ state when ‘Moonlight’ reaches 0.
- Innermost Nature (Technique) – Jingliu gains two stacks of ‘New Moon’ at the beginning of a battle.
From the leaks, we can tell Jingliu will be a very unique character, probably best suited for expert players. She will need a support character and a powerful healer by her side due to her risky Ultimate. Players are already wondering about her stats to figure out if her skills are worth the sacrifice.
Jingliu leaked Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail
As a five-star character, Jingliu will get a signature Light Cone when she arrives at Honkai Star Rail. Here’s the leaked description of her five-star Light Cone:
I Shall Be my Own Sword
Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 20%. Additionally, when an ally gets attacked or loses HP, the wearer gains one stack of Eclipse, up to a max of three stacks. Each stack of Eclipse increases the DMG of the wearer’s next attack. With a maximum of three stacks, an additional attack will be delivered that ignores part of the enemy’s DEF. This effect is dispelled after the wearer delivers their attack.
While Jingliu could be a tough character to master, her Light Cone seems to be ideal for DPS characters in Honkai Star Rail. Of course, considering Jingliu’s abilities, this Light Cone is more than perfect for her.
It’s worth noting that HoYoverse confirmed the name of the Light Cone, but its effects could be subject to change. We’ll make sure to update this article once the update goes live.
Honkai Star Rail Jingliu trailers
The above Honkai Star Rail trailer titled “A Flash” shows a few important moments in the game’s lore. One of them shows Jingliu giving lessons to Jing Yuan when he was young, while another shows an adult Jing Yuan instructing young Yanqing on the way of the sword.
The Cloud Knights and the Xianzhou Alliance play an important role in the second main adventure in Honkai Star Rail, with many powerful characters that players want to add to their teams. The update 1.4 will bring a new Companion Mission centered around Jingliu, Jing Yuan, and a mysterious new character.
Another trailer released on October 6 centers around a conversation between Yanqing and Jingliu. Players who completed Yanqing’s Companion Mission encountered Jingliu at the Xianzhou and are ready for more with this interesting character.
