All Diablo 4 mount skills & how to unlock them
BlizzardDiablo 4 has been a ground-breaking game in the franchise for many reasons and one of them is the ability to use mounts for open-world exploration. To help you make the most of mounts, here’s a list of all mount skills in Diablo 4 and how to get them.
Diablo 4 sticks to the roots in terms of character-building and classes but offers a lot more in terms of open-world exploration, lore, and end-game content. As a result, it has impressed both veterans and newcomers to become the fastest-selling Blizzard game of all time.
The biggest incentive for players to explore Sanctuary after completing the campaign is Renown. To make this process convenient, the developers have added fast travel features like waypoints and mounts.
Assuming that you’ve unlocked a mount in Diablo 4, let’s take a look at how you can unlock all mount skills.
What are mount skills in Diablo 4
When you press Z or the right D-pad to ride a mount in Diablo 4, your class skills at the bottom of the screen are replaced by three mount skills. Two of these skills are common for all classes while the third skill is exclusive to the class you’re using.
All mount skills in Diablo 4 and how to get them
There are seven mount skills in Diablo 4 including two common skills for all classes and five skills exclusive to one class:
Mount skill | Skill explanation | How to get the mount skill |
---|---|---|
Spur | Increases the mount’s movement speed | Available by default for all classes |
Dismount | Jump off the mount triggering a 10-second cooldown | Available by default for all classes |
Volley | Jump off the mount and deal damage to enemies through arrows | Play the Rogue class |
Bounding Slam | Get off the mount and smash the ground dealing damage to enemies and stunning them | Play the Barbarian class |
Freezing Wake | Jump off the mount to deal damage to enemies in your path and freeze them for 2 seconds | Play the Sorcerer class |
Bone Spike | When you jump off the mount, slam the ground to deal damage to enemies and stun them for 2 seconds. | Play the Necromancer class |
Pummel | Turn into a werebear when you get off the mount and slam the ground that knocks down enemies in the AoE | Play the Druid class |
Long story short, you automatically unlock new mount skills in Diablo 4 by changing your class. Once you get on the mount in the game, the class’ exclusive mount skill is automatically added to the skill tray at the bottom of the screen.
This is definitely much easier when compared to unlocking skill points for characters which involves leveling up and grinding Renown.
