Is Diablo 4 playable on Steam Deck?

Yes, the Steam Deck can run Diablo 4 but you cannot download it from Steam. Instead, you’ll have to download Battle.net on your device, add it as a non-steam game, and run it through Proton.

How to install Diablo 4 on Steam Deck?

Follow these steps to run Diablo 4 on Steam Deck:

  1. Go to Blizzard’s official page and download the launcher’s .exe file for Windows.
  2. Press the Steam button > Power > Desktop mode.
  3. Launch Steam and click the + icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  4. Select ‘Add non-steam game‘.
  5. A file browser will open from which you have to add the .exe file.
  6. Once the launcher is added, look for Battle.net in your Steam Library.
  7. Go to the program’s Properties > Compatibility.
  8. Force the use of the compatibility tool and select GE- Proton 7.0-5.
  9. Go to the launcher’s Properties again. Select Shortcut and then Browse.
  10. If you’ve saved the launcher in an external card, type / in the Look In bar at the top and go to run > media > mmcblkop > Battle.net, and select Battle.net Launcher.exe.
  11. If you’ve saved the launcher in your device’s SSD, type /home/deck in the Look In bar at the top and go to .steam > root > steamapps > compatdata. Select the folder that was created most recently and go to pfx > drive_c > Program Files (x86) > Battle.net.
  12. Open the Battle.net Lancher.exe file.
  13. Run the Battle.net launcher like normal and install Diablo 4.
  14. Launch Diablo 4 from the launcher.
