How many acts in Diablo 4? All story & side quests

With new Diablo 4 seasons coming every three months to add more content, players might find it difficult to track their overall progress while completing quests and working their way through the main acts of the story for the first time.

To help you with this, we’ve compiled a list of all main story quests, acts, side quests, and seasonal missions in Diablo 4 Season 5.

How many acts are in Diablo 4?

The story of Diablo 4 is broken up into six acts, along with a prologue before the game gets underway and an epilogue to conclude the campaign:

  1. Prologue: Wandering
  2. Act 1: A Cold and Iron Faith
  3. Act 2: The Knife Twists Again
  4. Act 3: The Making of Monsters
  5. Act 4: A Gathering Storm
  6. Act 5: Secrets Bartered, Fates Sold

The main quest will take you to various places across Sanctuary.

Diablo 4 lets payers tackle Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3 in any order, as they focus on individual regions that can be discovered at any time. However, all three of the opening acts must be completed to access Act 4, and the rest of the story must be done in order.

Thanks to Diablo 4’s scaling system you don’t have to worry about Act 3 being any tougher than Act 1, just complete the quests at your leisure.

All story quests

There are a total of 97 quests in Diablo 4, all of which must be completed once before rolling the credits on the story and reaching the endgame content.

Act 5 spans the longest time, giving players 20 quests to set up the finale in Act 6. Meanwhile, Act 4 should take the least time to complete, as it is only made up of six main quests to serve as a bit of a breather after the intense opening.

New quests in Diablo 4 Season 5

Season 5 introduced the Of Lambs and Wolves questline in Diablo 4, and you need to complete six quests in the seasonal journey:

You need Mother’s Gift to advance the seasonal quest.

You can tackle the seasonal quest at any time, as it scales with your character level. Throughout the journey, you’ll need to collect Mother’s Gift to unlock new quests in the questline. You can track how much Mother’s Gift you have by visiting Istel in Zarbinzet.

Diablo 4 releases new seasonal content every three months or so, and the questline for Season 5 is meant to be the kind of prologue to what we can expect to see in Vessel of Hatred. If you want to progress quickly, be sure to check out the best classes this season for leveling.
