Best XM4 loadout in Black Ops 6 beta
ActivisionThe iconic XM4 returns in Black Ops 6 and it’s already emerging as a go-to pick in the beta, so here’s the best loadout to help you beat the competition.
This popular Assault Rifle was one of the best guns in Black Ops Cold War and dominated the meta during the Verdansk era of Warzone. With its impressive range and accuracy, it’s looking to do the exact same in Black Ops 6 multiplayer too.
But before you try it out for yourself in the beta, you’ll need the ideal attachments, Perks, and Equipment to run.
Best XM4 loadout attachments in Black Ops 6 beta
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Fire Mods: Rapid Fire
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Magazine: Extended Mag 1
Our best XM4 build is all about removing much of the Assault Rifle’s visual recoil, making it much easier for you to land shots in tight gunfights. To kick things off, we’ve gone for the Compensator Muzzle and Vertical Foregrip for a major recoil control buff.
Black Ops 6’s maps are fairly small and compact, so TTK is more important than ever. With the help of the Rapid Fire mod, you can unload your clip much faster than your opponent to give you the edge in every battle.
Using Rapid Fire does chew through ammo pretty quickly though, so we’ve counteracted this with the Extended Mag 1 option to increase your magazine size from 30 to 45.
Finally, the Quickdraw Grip drastically improves the XM4’s ADS speed, ensuring you can always land the crucial first shot. With this setup, I found the AR to be laser-accurate in mid-range fights with the firepower to go toe-to-toe with virtually any other gun in the beta.
Best Perks & Equipment to run with XM4
- Wildcard: Perk Greed
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Tracker
- Perk 3: Vigilance
- Perk 4: Flak Jacket
- Lethal: Frag Grenade
- Tactical: Flashbang
- Field Upgrade: Trophy System
We recommend sticking with the Recon category for Perks to get its Combat Speciality, which pings enemies through walls after you respawn. This gives you a quick insight into where the other team is, allowing you to make an informed decision on where to push.
While this narrows down the Perk pool slightly, you can solve this issue by using the Perk Greed Wildcard to unlock an extra slot and give you a little more flexibility. This lets you use Flak Jacket from the Strategist category to reduce the damage of incoming explosives, without sacrificing the Recon specialty.
Then, you’ll need Ghost to keep yourself off the radar when the other team calls in a UAV, and Tracker lets you see enemy footsteps and hunt them down. Last up is Vigilance, which makes you immune to Combat Scout and the Sleeper Agent Field Upgrade, which disguises foes as teammates.
When it comes to Equipment, you can’t go wrong with the Frag Grenade to quickly clear a room. Meanwhile, Flashbangs are perfect for blinding players before you move in to pick them off.
Finally, the Trophy System is a must-use in the Field Upgrade slot, as this blocks explosives while you’re trying to capture an objective.
How to unlock XM4 in Black Ops 6 beta
The XM4 is unlocked from the beginning in the Black Ops 6 beta, so you don’t need to do anything to get your hands on it. However, you won’t be able to begin customizing your class until you hit Level 4, so you’ll have to stick with the default loadout for the first couple of games.
Reaching Level 30 in the beta will also earn you the Bug Smasher XM4 Blueprint, which will be ready and waiting for you when the full game launches on October 25.
Best XM4 alternatives
If the XM4 isn’t working for you in Black Ops 6, then the AK-74 is another easy-to-use Assault Rifle that can easily be built into a top-tier option. If you want something that packs more punch at close range, you could also switch to the C9 SMG.
If you’re hopping into the Black Ops 6 beta, here’s how to get a Nuke and how the new dedicated melee slots work.
