Lastly, PlayStation 5 players just need to wait for the update to go live to get Honkai Star Rail’s latest version on May 8.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Firefly & Boothill banners

Robin and Boothill will headline the Honkai Star Rail 2.2 banners in that order. While most banners usually have an additional four-star character debuting, it seems this update will be an exception. On the other hand, players will also get a re-run of Fu Xuan and Topaz’s banners coming with the update.

Here’s what the banner schedule looks like for HSR 2.2:

Phase One

  • Robin – Five-star | Physical | The Harmony
    • March 7th – Four-star | Ice | The Preservation
    • Hanya – Four-star | Physical | The Harmony
    • Xueyi – Four-star | Physical | The Destruction
  • Topaz – Five-star | Fire | The Hunt
    • March 7th – Four-star | Ice | The Preservation
    • Hanya – Four-star | Physical | The Harmony
    • Xueyi – Four-star | Physical | The Destruction

Phase Two

  • Boothill – Five-star | Physical | The Hunt
    • Pela – Four-star | Ice | The Nihility
    • Luka – Four-star | Physical | The Nihility
    • Hook – Four-star | Fire | The Destruction
  • Fu Xuan – Five-star | Quantum | The Preservation
    • Pela – Four-star | Ice | The Nihility
    • Luka – Four-star | Physical | The Nihility
    • Hook – Four-star | Fire | The Destruction

While some fans expected Firefly/Sam after the huge cliffhanger in update 2.1, the character will instead be playable with the epilogue that will arrive with Honkai Star Rail 2.3.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Harmony Trailblazer leaked

The main reason for the Honkai Star Rail 2.2 update not featuring a new four-star character is that players will finally be able to unlock a new Path for the Trailblazer.

Leaks suggest HSR 2.2 will introduce a new boss, “Harmonious Choir” – The Great Septimus, and players will be able to unlock the Imaginary element main character in the Path of The Harmony, just like in the Belobog storyline, where they unlocked the Preservation Fire Trailblazer.

Characters in the Path of The Harmony specialize in boosting their allies’ abilities, so the new Imaginary Trailblazer will be a Support character.

That’s all leaks have anticipated so far, but we’ll make sure to update this section once we know more about the Harmony Trailblazer.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Light Cones

Robin and Boothill‘s debuts will add new five-star Light Cones to Honkai Star Rail, in addition to two four-star Light Cones confirmed by HoYoverse, and here’s what we know about them, thanks to leaks:

Flowing Nightglow – Five-star | The Harmony

The wearer gains 1 stack of Cantillation every time any ally attacks. Each stack of Cantillation increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 3%, up to 5 stacks. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, removes Cantillation and gains Cadenza. Cadenza increases the Wearer’s ATK by 48% and the team’s DMG dealt by 24% for 1 turn.

Sailing Towards a Second Life – Five-star | The Hunt

Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 60% and Break DMG dealt by the wearer ignores 20% of the target’s DEF. When the wearer’s Break Effect is at 150% or greater, also increases their SPD by 12%.

Boundless Choreo – Four-star | The Nihility

Increase the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. The wearer deals 24% more CRIT DMG to enemies that are currently DEF reduced or Slowed.

For Tomorrow’s Journey – Four-star | The Harmony

Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. Then, when the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases the DMG dealt by 18% for 1 turn.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 gameplay updates

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 will add a new Lineup Overview feature so players can review and edit their team compositions and presets more easily. On the other hand, players will also be able to see recommendations when leveling Traces up, so they can upgrade those prioritized for each character first.

Additionally, the 2.2 update will also add new social features. These new functions will let players share what they’re currently doing in the game, as well as what characters and Light Cones they’ve pulled, battle records, and more.

As expected, HSR will receive a new boss with this update to finally wrap up the Penacony storyline. After defeating it, players will be able to challenge a new Echo of War for juicy rewards and new materials. The story will also add brand-new areas called Dreamflux Reef, Penacony Grand Theater, and SoulGlad Scorchsand Audition Venue.

In other news, the arrival of the Harmony Trailblazer will refresh the Toughness system with new enemies. According to leaks, some of the new enemies will have more than one Toughness bar, meaning you’ll need to break all of those to trigger the Weakness Break effect in battle.

Luckily for HSR players, leaks suggest that the Harmony Trailblazer will have abilities that improve their allies’ Break Effect and can deal damage from other elements that aren’t their own. It sounds like the new Trailblazer will be quite the asset, at least during the 2.2 and 2.3 updates.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 events

Players can expect a new Gift of Odyssey event to get 10 Star Rail Special Passes for free in the Honkai Star Rail 2.2 update.

Another event titled Dreamjoy Memoir will give players the chance to get one of the new Light Cones. The event description teases players will have to edit different films to change the ending through minigames similar to the ones introduced in 2.1.

The Legend of Galactic Baseballer is an event that will bring the Masked Fool Giovanni back to the game. This time, the character designed a new videogame inspired by your adventures, and you’ll have to defeat powerful enemies to claim all kinds of rewards.

The second phase of the 2.2 update will also add the All About Boothill event, where players will be able to deploy limited-time assignments to get Stellar Jade, Credits, and other useful materials.

Lastly, the Planar Fissure and Garden of Plenty events will be back with doubled rewards for players tackling the Simulated Universe and different Calyxes, respectively.
