Here’s how much storage you need on PC and mobile for Honkai Star Rail as of version 2.1 in April 2024.

Honkai Star Rail continues to add more to the game with each version update, from brand-new characters to new regions. All these additions also continue to pile up the file size, which gets increasingly bigger with every version.

Honkai Star Rail storage requirement on PC

As of version 2.1, Honkai Star Rail requires more than 30 GB on PC. The size depends on how many audio packs you’ve installed, and it could go way above that if you’ve installed all of them.

Honkai Star Rail storage requirement on mobile 

As of version 2.1, Honkai Star Rail requires more than 19 GB on mobile phones. Like on a PC, the file size on a mobile device also depends on how many language packs you currently have installed. 

On release, Honkai Star Rail storage requirements for PC and mobile were around 15 GB and 8 GB, respectively, and they have more than doubled since its launch in April 2023.

How to reduce Honkai Star Rail storage on PC and mobile 

The only way to reduce Honkai Star Rail’s file size is by deleting audio packs that you have no use for by following these steps: 

1. Go to the menu by clicking on the Phone icon in-game.
2. Then click on ‘Settings.’
3. Head to ‘Language Settings.’
4. Finally, click on ‘Voice Pack Resource Management.’ 

From there, delete any language that you’ll not play the game in. Although, for the most part, the game will only ever download the default audio language, you can check just in case you’ve installed it unknowingly.
