Here’s how to build Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail with the best possible Light Cone, Relics, Planar Ornament, and teammates.

Honkai Star Rail players have the chance to try Aventurine while playing the main storyline set in Penacony. That’s why many players are now trying to get this five-star character with extremely powerful abilities.

Here’s how to build Aventurine in HSR using the best Light Cones, Relics, and team compositions.

Aventurine’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail explained

In Honkai Star Rail, Aventurine is an Imaginary element character in the Path of The Preservation. Characters in this path are tanks in HSR and can provide shields for allies. Aventurine is boosted in the second phase of update 2.1 in his own banner called Gilded Imprisonment.

Here are all of Aventurine’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail:

  • Straight Bet (Basic ATK) – Deal Imaginary DMG to a single enemy based on Aventurine’s DEF.
  • Cornerstone Deluxe (Skill) – Provides all allies with a Fortified Wager Shield that can block DMG, and lasts for 3 turns. The Shield effect can stack if you use the Skill repeatedly.
  • Roulette Shark (Ultimate) – Randomly gains 1 to 7 points of Blind Bet. Then, inflicts Unnerved on a single target enemy for 3 turns. Additionally, deals Imaginary DMG equal to that enemy. When an ally hits an Unnerved enemy target, the CRIT DMG dealt increases by up to 16.2%.
  • Shot Loaded Right (Talent) – The Effect RES increases by up to 55% for a single ally with Fortified Wager. When this ally gets attacked, Aventurine gains 1 point of Blind Bet. When Aventurine has Fortified Wager, he can resist Crowd Control debuffs. This effect can trigger again after 2 turns. Aventurine additionally gains 1 point of Blind Bet after getting attacked. When reaching 7 points of Blind Bet, Aventurine consumes the 7 points to launch a 7-hit follow-up attack, with each hit dealing Imaginary DMG to a single random enemy.
  • The Red or the Black (Technique) – After using the Technique, one of the following effects will be granted, increasing all allies’ DEF for 3 turns:
    • There is a chance for DEF to increase by 24%.
    • There is a high chance for DEF to increase by 36%.
    • There is a small chance for DEF to increase by 60%.

Since Aventurine is a Shielder, you’ll want to enhance his DEF. What’s more, most of his abilities use this stat, whether is to provide shields for allies or dealing DMG, so you should improve it with different Relics.

On the other hand, Aventurine can work well as a single-target DPS, so you can also improve his CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, Imaginary DMG, and SPD to take advantage of his damage-dealing capabilities.

Best Relics for Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail

Knight of Purity Palace

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases DEF by 15%.
  • Four-piece bonus: Increases the max DMG that can be absorbed by the Shield created by the wearer by 20%.

If you’re looking to use Aventurine as your Tank/Shielder in Honkai Star Rail, Knight of Purity Palace is the best Relic set you can get. You’ll increase Aventurine’s DEF and enhance his Shields, making him a great support character for your team.

The Ashblazing Grand Duke

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases the DMG dealt by follow-up attacks by 20%.
  • Four-piece bonus: When the wearer uses follow-up attacks, increases the ATK by 6% for every time the follow-up attack deals DMG. This effect can stack up to 8 times and lasts for 3 turns.

The Ashblazing Grand Duke can improve Aventurine’s follow-up attack to make it devastating. If you’re looking to make Aventurine a Sub-DPS, you can go for the full set or try to combine the two-piece set with another alternative.

Wastelander of Banditry Desert

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases Imaginary DMG by 10%.
  • Four-piece bonus: When attacking debuffed enemies, the wearer’s CRIT Rate increases by 10%, and their CRIT DMG increases by 20% against Imprisoned enemies.

Wastelander of Banditry Desert is great for Aventurine, as it not only improves his Imaginary DMG but also takes advantage of Unnerved. However, this set is mostly recommended if Aventurine is joined by another Imaginary character, as you’ll have more chances to apply Imprisonment to enemies.

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters is another interesting Relic set for Aventurine, and it was added with the update 2.1, as it also works great with Acheron.

Best Planar Ornament for Aventurine in HSR

Broken Keel is the best Planar Ornament for Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail, as his Skill and Talent can easily trigger its effects. This set increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 10%, and when the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%.

Belobog of the Architects is a good alternative. This Planar Ornament increases the wearer’s DEF by 15%, and when the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate is 50% or higher, the wearer gains an extra 15% DEF. This is suitable for Aventurine if you plan to use him as support.

Lastly, Inert Salsotto can improve Aventurine’s DPS capabilities. This set increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%, and when the current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, their Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

Best Light Cone for Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail

Inherently Unjust Destiny

Aventurine debuted in Honkai Star Rail alongside his signature Light Cone, so you should try to get it while you have the chance. The weapon increases the wearer’s DEF by up to 64% for starters. Then, when the wearer provides a Shield to an ally, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by up to 64% for 2 turns.

That’s not all, because when the wearer’s follow-up attack hits an enemy target, there is a high chance to increase the DMG taken by the attacked enemy target by up to 16% for 2 turns. In summary, this Light Cone improves all of Aventurine’s abilities and can make him even more powerful in battle.

Concert for Two

This Light Cone introduced alongside Aventurine increases the wearer’s DEF by up to 32%. What’s more, for every on-field character that has a Shield, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by up to 8%. Aventurine can trigger these effects very early in combat, so it’s a great pick for him

Moment of Victory

Gepard‘s Light Cone increases the wearer’s DEF and Effect Hit Rate by up to 40%. That’s not all, as it also increases the chance for the wearer to be attacked by enemies. When the wearer is attacked, their DEF increases by an extra amount until the end of the wearer’s turn. Since most of Aventurine’s abilities rely on his DEF stat, this Light Cone can be great for him.

Best Honkai Star Rail teams for Aventurine

If you’re planning on enhancing Aventurine’s capabilities as a support character, you won’t need a healer on your Honkai Star Rail team. Aventurine’s shields will be enough to keep your units in one piece, and you’ll be able to focus on dealing damage and applying debuffs.

Dr. Ratio has great synergy with Aventurine, as both can take advantage of each other’s follow-up attacks. You can claim Dr. Ratio for free until the end of the 2.1 update on May 8, 2024. If you’re looking for a free-to-play team, you can add Asta and Yukong as support characters to improve their different abilities.

On the other hand, you can also pair Aventurine with characters like Topaz, Ruan Mei, Sparkle, or Acheron, as they work well together.
