HoYoverse is still giving away Dr. Ratio for free to all Honkai Star Rail players, but many are already done with the current banner and want news about what’s coming next. While devs will reveal their plans with a Special Program scheduled for January 26, 2024, many leaks and rumors have shared details of what future updates might hold.
Among the new characters coming with the Penacony storyline, many players want to know more about Gallagher. So, here’s everything we know about him so far, including his leaked abilities and expected release date.

Who is Gallagher in Honkai Star Rail?
Gallagher is a security officer of the Bloodhound Family in Honkai Star Rail. In Penacony’s lore, The Family is comprised of five different families that players will meet during the adventures. So far, only two have been officially revealed: the Bloodhound Family and the Iris Family.
Gallagher is also a mixologist, according to his official description. In Honkai Star Rail‘s gameplay, this means he’s a new healer, and many players will want to add him to their teams. While there’s no way to know if he’ll play a major role in the coming story, leaks and rumors regarding his abilities have been around for quite some time.
Is there a Gallagher release date in Honkai Star Rail?
No, HoYoverse haven’t revealed Gallagher’s release date in Honkai Star Rail yet. However, since the devs officially revealed the character alongside Acheron and Aventurine, he’s expected to debut with the 2.1 update of the game.

Gallagher leaked abilities in Honkai Star Rail
HoYoverse confirmed Gallagher is a four-star Fire element character in the Path of The Abundance. This means he’s a healer in charge of keeping allies in full health. And while his abilities haven’t been officially revealed, reliable leaks already teased what Gallagher is capable of.
Here are Gallagher’s leaked abilities in Honkai Star Rail:
- Basic ATK – Deals Fire DMG to a single-target enemy.
- Enhanced Basic ATK – Deals Fire DMG to a single-target enemy and reduces their ATK for a certain number of turns.
- Skill – Heals an ally based on his ATK stat.
- Ultimate – Puts debuff on an enemy that increases Break DMG taken for 2 turns. Then, deals damage to that enemy. Additionally enhances Basic ATK. What’s more, while the debuff is active, allies are healed based on Gallagher’s ATK when they attack. On the other hand, if Gallagher attacks and his Basic ATK is enhanced, all allies restore some HP.
While leaks don’t reveal details about Gallagher’s Talent and Technique, players are already excited about him. New characters seem to bring new elements to the formulas players know very well. Aventurine is a Preservation character with some twists, and now Gallagher seems to add another kind of freshness to healers.
