Whenever you make a decision that he likes, you’ll see a notification pop up that will indicate that you are gaining his favor.
Barrett is usually impressed by high moral decisions, so it’s a good idea to avoid dishonest actions if you wish to romance him. This includes pickpocketing, stealing ships, killing people, and overall, everything related to crimes.
The best way to flirt with Barrett in Starfield is to choose light-hearted responses while talking with him. While he enjoys jokes, he’s generally put off by people who are full of themselves. If you get him to warm up to you enough, you’ll be able to pick the “Flirt” option dialogue to deepen your relationship.
Starfield: Breach of Contract quest
After you’re close enough with Barrett, he’ll tell you about his late husband Ervin. It will be difficult at first to ask him about this subject, so you should opt for a soft and empathetic answer for these conversations.
