Starfield players wish “perfect” NPC was romanceable

Starfield has a selection of companions that you can romance, but players on Reddit are wondering why this “perfect” character is not an option.

Starfield packs in all the gameplay elements you expect from a Bethesda RPG, including various romance options. The sci-fi title features many recruitable companions, but players can only romance, or marry, four of them.

All of the game’s romance options are members of its primary faction, Constellation. They hail from different backgrounds, have unique personal arcs, and also distinct personalities. But their moral compass veers more on the side of ‘good’ than anything else.

This can lead to Starfield’s romantic companions feeling a bit similar regardless of the option you go with, and it has also been a common complaint within the community. Players have called for the addition of new romance options through the Shattered Space DLC. But in the meantime, they’re asking for one NPC to be turned into a romanceable companion.

A discussion around the subject broke out following a Reddit post by user ‘flabden.’ Titled, “Why can’t I recruit or marry her? She’s perfect,” the post highlighted an NPC named Muria.

The dark-haired character is technically a generic NPC who can be found inside the Galbank building in New Atlantis. But she is far more than set-dressing as the character has a strong personality that many players have found to be pretty charming.

In the brief conversation players can have with her, Muria comes off as sarcastic, unbothered, blunt, and a bit gloomy. The conversation itself is enjoyable and even offers some funny dialogue options. As far as Starfield‘s generic NPCs go, Muria stands out, and many players wish that she could’ve been a companion or even a romance option.

Users in the comments section of the post felt the same, with one of them saying, “I remember her, too much character to be just a random NPC in a bank lol.”

Another user tried to explain why she is so alluring, “I just met her last night myself, and I knew she was who this was gonna be about when I clicked on it. I think part of what makes her so charming is that you can’t get anything more from her than humoring you for a few minutes.”

While it’s unlikely that Bethesda turns her into a romance option, it’s safe to expect that a future mod will do precisely that.
