Bethesda’s biggest RPG to date, Starfield, is generating a lot of hype as well as curiosity among fans, and a common question is whether it has New Game Plus or not. Here’s what you need to know about New Game Plus in Starfield.

With over 1,000 planets to explore in around 100 star systems, Starfield might take many hours to beat. However, that won’t stop the most die-hard RPG fans from exploring the game‘s various narrative routes. This naturally lends itself to multiple playthroughs, which is where a New Game Plus game mode could come in.

Bethesda RPGs from the Fallout and Elder Scrolls franchises have always had multiple paths based on the choices you take. However, none of them have ever had a dedicated New Game Plus game mode. So, has Starfield broken this trend and become the first to offer one?

Here’s everything you need to know about New Game Plus in Starfield.

Is there New Game Plus in Starfield?

Yes, Starfield has a New Game Plus mode. When you complete the final mission of the game, you are given a choice to either continue the same run or walk into the light which restarts Starfield in New Game Plus mode.

Starfield has romance options with multiple NPCs.

The New Game Plus mode in Starfield allows players to keep their levels, unlocked skills, and powers. But they won’t be able to keep their inventory which includes weapons and spacesuits, credits, relationships, side quests progress, and anything else that was picked up in the earlier run.

Having New Game Plus alters the existing narrative routes and now you can skip any main quests if you don’t want to go through them again.

The addition of New Game Plus in Starfield is new for Bethesda since older titles didn’t support the feature at all. This is because New Game Plus usually does not work for non-linear RPGs like Fallout 4 or Skyrim which offer a completely new experience each time you play the game.
