Niantic have finally revealed the details for the upcoming Pokemon Go Fest 2023 event, so here’s everything you need to know, including dates, locations, prices, and more.
Following a long wait plagued with rumors and leaks, Pokemon Go Fest 2023 has been officially announced. The annual event is the biggest one that Pokemon Go players can take part in, whether they travel around the world or participate from their home cities to partake in the global celebrations.
The Pokemon Go Fest 2023 in-person event will take place in three different cities and span two different sets of dates, while the global event will follow right after.
We’ll cover everything we know so far about the massive event, including dates, ticket prices, and more.

Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global event dates
The Pokemon Go Fest 2023 global event will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, and Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 10 AM to 6 PM local time. “Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global is a virtual, ticketed event that Trainers can participate in wherever they play—some features will also be available to Trainers without a ticket,” reads the official announcement.
Global tickets are available for purchase in-game and will remain available up until the last day of the event. Players can buy them for $14.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) and can’t use PokeCoins to get them. Additionally, trainers who purchase a ticket to one of the in-person Go Fest events can also purchase a ticket for Go Fest 2023: Global.
Prior to the global event, players will be able to participate in the Pokemon Go Fest 2023 in-person celebrations across three different cities.

What to expect from Pokemon Go Fest 2023?
Sadly, that’s all the official information Niantic shared for the Pokemon Go Fest 2023 event. While the official announcement anticipates “double the adventures, double the exclusive gameplay opportunities, and even some mythical surprises”, they haven’t revealed any specific gameplay-related news or features yet.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted what appear to be pink gems in the Go Fest 2023 logo, which some think is related to the Jewel Pokemon Diancie. Others think the blue background also resembles a gem and could be hinting at Carbink. Both Pokemon are related and fit the treasure hunt theme that the official art of the event is hinting at.
As for the rest of the event’s features, most will remain a mystery for now. Recent datamining suggested Shadow Raids and the Master Ball are coming to the game, so maybe Go Fest is the perfect place to debut these types of game mechanics.
We’ll update this article once there’s more information about the Pokemon Go Fest 2023 event.
