The popular mobile video game title Pokemon Go is celebrating its seventh anniversary with the Pokemon Go Fest event and players are eager to check out all the new content that’s arrived, including the debut of Mega Rayquaza.

Now, players have the chance to obtain a popular new Pokemon in the hand-held title as Carbink has become available in Pokemon Go. If you’re wondering how you can get your hands on this Jewel Pokemon and if it’s Shiny then we’ve got you covered.

How to obtain Carbink in Pokemon Go

You can obtain Carbink in Pokemon Go by purchasing a Global ticket for the Pokemon Go Fest event between June 21 and July 5. This will grant you access to a special Timed Research called ‘In the Rough’ that results in a Carbink encounter once you complete it.

The Timed Research includes tasks such as playing with your buddy five times, opening gifts, and catching different species of Pokemon. Another way for you to obtain Carbink will be through Field Research encounters that will become available during the Global event on August 26, 2023.

Is there a Shiny Carbink in Pokemon Go?

Currently, there is no Shiny version of Carbink available in Pokemon Go. This isn’t surprising as Niantic don’t often release a Shiny version of Pokemon that’s a brand-new addition to the game. For now, players will have to stick with the regular version of Carbink.

Carbink is a Jewel Pokemon that was first introduced in Generation VI, and this creature has multiple blue crystals on its body with a light-blue one stuck in the center of its forehead. This new Pokemon may prove to be a valuable addition to PvP battles in Pokemon Go.
