Pokemon Go players celebrated Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global with several interesting debuts and new game mechanics. Apart from Carbink and Diancie’s debuts in the mobile game, Mega Rayquaza was the biggest highlight of the event. Now, players are eager to grab the Mega Evolved form of the Sky High Pokemon Rayquaza.

However, Rayquaza requires a different method for Mega Evolution, as players would need to use Meteorites to get the job done. Now, players who caught the Legendary Pokemon during Go Fest 2023 are eager to know how they should use this new item and obtain Mega Rayquaza.

How to obtain Meteorites in Pokemon Go

Currently, the only way to get Meteorites in Pokemon Go is by completing either the Sky-High or Super Sky-High Special Researches. Players who logged into the game on August 27, 2023, got the first one for free. On the other hand, Go Fest 2023 ticket-holders who logged into the game during the in-person or global events got the second Special Research.

How to use Meteorite in Pokemon Go to Mega Evolve Rayquaza

Once you get a Meteorite in Pokemon Go, you can use it to Mega Evolve Rayquaza. Sadly, it’s not the only requirement, as you’ll also need to gather 400 Rayquaza Mega Energy. To do this, you have to defeat Mega Rayquaza in Mega Raids during Pokemon Go Fest. Completing certain steps of the premium Special Research will also reward you with Rayquaza Mega Energy.

Once you meet all the requirements, here’s how to Mega Evolve Rayquaza in Pokemon Go:

1. Open Pokemon Go.
2. Select Rayquaza and give it the Meteorite to teach it the Charged Move Dragon Ascent.
3. Feed it 400 Rayquaza Mega Energy.
4. Tap the Mega Evolve button.

You’ll need to spend 400 Rayquaza Mega Energy the first time you Mega Evolve the Legendary Pokemon. After that, you’ll only need to wait for the cooldown period to end.
