Team Valor takes the spotlight in a new Pokemon Go event that features new debuts, shiny Pokemon, and interesting Raids. Here’s everything you need to know about the A Valorous Hero event, including the Mega Pinsir debut, bonuses, and more.

The Rising Heroes season of Pokemon Go is coming to an end soon, but before that, players have one last event centered around the three main Teams. A Valorous Hero features Team Leader Candela asking players for help with her Research.

After building with A Mystic Hero and An Instinctive Hero, this new event brings Mega Pinsir’s debut alongside a new shiny Legendary and Raids headlined by Hisuian Pokemon. Here’s everything you need to know about the A Valorous Hero event in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event dates

The Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event is taking place from Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 10 AM (local time) to Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 8 PM.

Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero Mega Pinsir & shiny Tapu Fini debuts

Mega Pinsir will make its debut in Mega Raids during the A Valorous Hero event in Pokemon Go. Lucky trainers might be able to catch a shiny Mega Pinsir according to the official blog post.

In 5-Star Raids, on the other hand, players will face Legendary Pokemon Tapu Fini. Additionally, for the first time in Pokemon Go, lucky players will be able to encounter shiny Tapu Fini after defeating it in Raids.

Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event Raids

Apart from Mega Pinsir and Tapu Fini, Pokemon Go players will be able to tackle Raids featuring Hisuian and Galarian Pokemon during the A Valorous Hero event. Here’s the full list of announced Raid bosses:

1-Star Raids

  • Hisuian Growlithe
  • Galarian Ponyta
  • Hoothoot

3-Star Raids

  • Galarian Stunfisk
  • Druddigon
  • Hisuian Braviary
  • Hisuian Avalugg

5-Star Raids

  • Tapu Fini

Mega Raids

  • Mega Pinsir

With shiny Tapu Fini finally making its way into the game, Hisuian Growlithe is the only Pokemon listed above that players can’t encounter in shiny form yet.

Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event bonuses

These bonuses will be active during the Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event:

  • 2x Candy for catching Pokemon.
  • Trainers level 31 and above will have twice the chance to obtain Candy XL from catching Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Special Research story: A Valorous Hero

Pokemon Go players will be able to participate in a new Special Research story titled ‘A Valorous Hero’ featuring Team Leader Candela. Trainers who complete the Research will be rewarded with an encounter with Ponyta wearing a Candela-themed accessory. Lucky players might even get a shiny Ponyta.

As with the costumed Lapras and Elekid players could get during the A Mystic Hero and An Instinctive Hero events, this is the only way to get this special Ponyta this season.

Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event Field & Timed Research

Pokemon Go players that spin PokeStops during the A Valorous Hero event might get an event-exclusive Field Research task. Completing these tasks can give players Stardust, Revives, Hyper Potions, or an encounter with Ponyta.

Additionally, players will get the chance to complete a Timed Research to earn a Fast TM and a Charged TM. Make sure to come back to see all Special, Field, and Timed Research tasks and rewards once the event goes live in Pokemon Go.
