A new Pokemon Go event centered around Team Instinct is coming, so here’s everything you need to know about An Instinctive Hero, including dates, Larvesta and Volcarona debuts, bonuses, and more.

After A Mystic Hero, Pokemon Go players are ready to help Team Leader Spark in a new event centered around Team Instinct. Niantic announced An Instinctive Hero event during the Rising Heroes season of the game, and players can expect special bonuses, new Research tasks, and important debuts, among other things.

In this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the An Instinctive Hero event in Pokemon Go, including dates, rewards, and more.

Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero event dates

The Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero event is taking place from Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10 AM to Monday, May 8, 2023, at 8 PM local time.

Pokemon Go Rising Heroes season bannerThe Rising Heroes season of Pokemon Go will end on June 1.

Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero Larvesta & Volcarona debuts

“Larvesta, the Torch Pokemon, and Volcarona, the Sun Pokemon, will make their Pokemon Go debuts,” reads the official event announcement.

Players will be able to get Larvesta by hatching 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs starting with the An Instinctive Hero event. Trainers will need to spend 400 Larvesta Candy to evolve it into Volcarona, which is something that players are not pleased with.

While it’s the first time a 400 Candy Pokemon can only be obtained through Eggs, Larvesta will probably need to walk 1 km to earn Candy. That’d make Larvesta and Volcarona the latest Pokemon to join the 1 km Buddy Pokemon list.

Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero event bonuses

These bonuses will be active during the Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero event:

  • Increased chance of hatching shiny Pokemon from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs.
  • 2x XP for hatching Pokemon.
  • 2x Stardust for hatching Pokemon.

Keep in mind that Larvesta and Volcarona are debuting with this event, so they won’t be available in shiny form just yet.

Pokemon Go Special Research story An Instinctive Hero

Pokemon Go players will be able to participate in a new Special Research story titled ‘An Instinctive Hero’ featuring Team Leader Spark. Trainers who complete the research will be rewarded with an encounter with Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory. Lucky players might even get a shiny Elekid.

As with the costumed Lapras players could get during the A Mystic Hero event, this is the only way to get this special Elekid this season.

Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero Field Research

Pokemon Go players that spin PokeStops during the An Instinct Hero event might get an event-exclusive Field Research task for a chance to catch one of these Pokemon:

  • Magneton
  • Chansey
  • Electabuzz
  • Magmar
  • Snorlax
  • Mantine
  • Chimecho

All Pokemon can appear in shiny form, except for Magneton.

Pokemon Go An Instinctive Hero Egg pool

The following Pokemon will hatch from 7km Eggs during the An Instinctive Hero event:

  • Mime Jr.
  • Happiny
  • Mantyke
  • Timburr
  • Karrablast
  • Axew
  • Shelmet
  • Goomy

Additionally, Larvesta will hatch from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs.

For the first time in Pokemon Go, players might get a shiny Mantyke. Goomy is the only Pokemon listed above that hasn’t debuted its shiny form in the game yet.

That’s everything there is to know about the An Instinctive Hero event in Pokemon Go. Team Valor will have their event titled ‘A Valorous Hero’ starting May 11, so stay tuned.
