The new Pokemon Go season, Rising Heroes, kicks off with a themed event that will test players and their catching skills so here’s everything you need to know about the Catch Mastery event, including shiny chances, bonuses, and more.

With the arrival of the superpowered Season 10 of Pokemon Go, players are already looking forward to special events, new Raids, and much more. Just a few days after the season starts, trainers all over the world can take part in the Catch Mastery event featuring beloved Fighting-type Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event date & time

The Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event will take place on Sunday, March 5, from 10 AM to 8 PM local time.

This means you’ll have eight hours to take advantage of this event’s bonuses and boosted wild encounters.

Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event encounters & Eggs

These are the Pokemon that will appear more frequently in the wild during the Catch Mastery event in Pokemon Go:

• Hitmonlee
• Hitmonchan

The following Pokémon will have a chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs collected during this event:

• Tyrogue

The three Pokemon have shiny versions in Pokemon Go so be on the lookout for shiny Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Tyrogue.

Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event Field & Timed Research rewards

The Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event will let players complete different tasks to get interesting rewards.

By spinning PokeStops and Gym Photo Discs, players will get themed Field Research tasks that will test their throwing skills. Completing these tasks will trigger an encounter with Hitmontop.

At the same time, Timed Research focused on players’ Poke Ball throwing accuracy will be available. “Complete 10 sets of research tasks to encounter 40 Hitmontop in total,” reads the official Pokemon Go website. Lucky players might encounter shiny Hitmontop.

Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event bonuses

Pokemon Go will feature these special bonuses during the Catch Mastery event:

• An increased chance of encountering Shiny Hitmonlee, Shiny Hitmonchan, and Shiny Hitmontop.
• 2x XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, Excellent Throws, and Curveball Throws.
