New Research tasks are available in Pokemon Go thanks to a new themed event centered around Team Valor. The Rising Heroes season of the mobile game brought special events for all teams, and A Valorous Hero gives players a chance to get a costumed Ponyta.

The Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero event features a Special Research story where players can help Team Valor Leader Candela with her investigations around battles. Here’s the full list of tasks and rewards:
Step 1 of 4
- Catch 15 Pokemon – 10 Poke Balls
- Use 15 Berries to help catch Pokemon – 10 Razz Berries
- Power up Pokemon 5 times – 1000 Stardust
Completion rewards: 1500 XP and a Charmander encounter
Step 2 of 4
Use 5 supereffective Charged Attacks – 10 Pinap Berries
Power up Pokemon 10 times – 2000 Stardust
Battle 3 Team Go Rocket Members – 3 Revives
Completion rewards: 2000 XP and a Stufful encounter
Step 3 of 4
Catch 15 Pokemon – 15 Great Balls
Power up Pokemon 15 times – 2500 Stardust
Battle in a Gym 3 times – 5 Revives
Completion rewards: 2500 XP and a Ponyta with Candela-themed accessory encounter

Claim Reward! – 80 Mega Charizard Energy
Claim Reward! – 5 Hyper Potions
Claim Reward! – 7 Revives
Completion rewards: 2500 XP and 2500 Stardust
The official Pokemon Go blog noted that lucky players might get a shiny Ponyta with a Candela-themed accessory. It also stated that this is the only way to get the special Pokemon this season.
Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero Timed Research tasks & rewards
Additionally, a Timed Research will be available in Pokemon Go for the whole duration of the A Valorous Hero event. Players that complete this Research will get a Fast TM and a Charged TM. These are all the Timed Research tasks and rewards:

- Power up Pokemon 10 times – 1000 Stardust
- Catch 5 Pokemon – 10 Poke Balls
- Make 5 Great Throws – 10 Razz Berries
- Battle 3 Team Go Rocket Grunts – 5 Hyper Potions
Completion rewards: 1000 Stardust, 1000 XP, and 1 Fast TM
Step 2 of 2
- Power up Pokemon 10 times – 1000 Stardust
- Catch 5 Pokemon – 10 Poke Balls
- Make 5 Great Throws – 10 Razz Berries
- Battle in a Gym 3 times – 5 Hyper Potions
Completion rewards: 1000 Stardust, 1000 XP, and 1 Charged TM
The A Valorous Hero Timed Research will be available in Pokemon Go until Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 8 PM local time.

Pokemon Go players that spin PokeStops during the A Valorous Hero event might get an event-exclusive Field Research task. Here’s the full list of tasks and rewards:
