Modern Warfare 3 makes its long-awaited debut on November 10, bringing players back to the world of Task Force 141 as they join forces to thwart a global terror organization led by the infamous Call of Duty antagonist, Makarov.
Following what Infinity Ward started with Modern Warfare 2, MW3 players will also get campaign early access to experience the full story ahead of the game’s official launch.
Since Modern Warfare 3’s official reveal, CoD players had the chance to experience some of the multiplayer content in the beta weekends, and now, campaign early access is up next. Here’s everything you need to know to play MW3’s campaign early, including the date and time, preload, and rewards.

Modern Warfare 3: How to play campaign early
To play the Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access, you need to pre-order any digital edition of the game on your preferred platform.
Please note that purchasing a physical copy will not grant you early access to the campaign, so make sure to pre-order it through your platform’s online store.
Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access start date & time
Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access starts on Thursday, November 2 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM GMT.
This means that players will have the opportunity to dive into the full campaign experience over a week before the game’s official launch on November 10 and visit Verdansk once again.
Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access preload
Modern Warfare 3’s campaign early access preload goes live on November 1 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM PT / 5 PM GMT on all platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net, Steam).
This will allow players to be fully prepared for the campaign and therefore be able to enjoy the continuation of the Modern Warfare universe storyline.
Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access file size
Modern Warfare 3’s campaign is set to come in at 50.984 GB on PlayStation. Although nearly double the size of 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, MW3 will feature semi-open worlds in the Open Combat Missions, likely racking up the file size.
Similar to the beta, you’ll probably need the 100GB Call of Duty HQ app downloaded, making the full file size upwards of 150 GB.
The devs revealed that the whole game including CoD HQ, multiplayer, Zombies, and the campaign will require 149 GB of space on PC, so the campaign file size might not be as big as it looks, but we’ll keep you updated.

Modern Warfare 3 players will be able to earn Operators, a Weapon Blueprint, Calling Cards, Double XP, and more for playing the campaign.
