Modern Warfare 3 teaser confirms Verdansk’s return
ActivisionVerdansk may be making a return after the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Makarov reveal trailer showed off areas of the classic Warzone map.
Things are ramping up for Call of Duty 2023, as not only has it now been officially revealed as Modern Warfare 3, but the devs have also given players a release date to look forward to, as it was announced that the title will be arriving on November 10.
A new trailer was released on August 9 ahead of the Warzone 2 reveal event, which gave players their first look at Makarov, who is set to be the main antagonist in the MW3 campaign.
Makarov is an iconic character from the original Modern Warfare series, but that’s not the only icon coming back to Call of Duty, as the trailer also featured a glimpse of Verdansk.
During the trailer, players spotted the Verdasnk Stadium, as well as the Verdansk football team’s logo on a wall during a portion of the trailer shown from a civilian’s perspective.
This was met by jubilation from the community, as players commented in excitement at the potential of Verdank’s return in Modern Warfare 3: “The greatest BR map of all time!”
Others also spotted the Prison POI from Verdansk in the trailer too, pretty much confirming that Verdansk will play some sort of role in Modern Warfare 3. This is huge as many fans have been begging for Verdansk to return.
This Verdansk teaser also comes at a time when the devs have also confirmed the return of slide canceling, so it seems like Sledgehammer Games could really be delivering on what the community’s wants.
That said, it’s important to note that this doesn’t confirm its return to Warzone, but it does suggest that portions of Verdansk will be featured in Modern Warfare 3’s campaign.
We’ll have to wait and see the nature of Verdansk’s return as we edge closer to Modern Warfare 3’s release date, but many will no doubt be hoping that it will return to Warzone in some fashion.
