Modern Warfare 3 new Cutthroat game mode explained
Modern Warfare 3 players will have a ton of new content to explore including the Cutthroat game mode, which they can also test out in the beta. Here’s everything you need to know about Cutthroat in Modern Warfare 3.
What is Modern Warfare 3 Cutthroat mode?
Modern Warfare 3 Cutthroat is a new 3v3v3 Call of Duty mode inspired by the Gunfight mode. To win a round in Cutthroat, players must either eliminate all of the enemy players or capture the overtime flag.
Cutthroat is debuting in Modern Warfare 3 and features round-based elimination as three teams spawn in a close-quarters area, creating a triangle. While Cutthroat is a one-life mode similar to Search & Destroy, you can revive your downed teammates.
Cutthroat is available in the Modern Warfare 3 beta as part of Weekend 2. In addition, the new mode will be playable on all of the 6v6 maps at launch.

New to #MW3, this is Cutthroat 💥
For 1v1 and 2v2 fans, Cutthroat will feel familiar with round-based elimination format and intense close-quarters. It's 3v3v3 with custom Loadouts, a moving flag, and 3-way firefights 💪 pic.twitter.com/prQjjJfCAN
Unlike Gunfight, Cutthroat allows players to create and use their custom loadouts as they look to eliminate the enemy trios.
Cutthroat aims to add to Modern Warfare 3’s gameplay variety and appeal to players who enjoy playing with friends. Grab your trio and check out the new mode in the Modern Warfare 3 beta.
