When is Ranked Play coming to Modern Warfare 3?

MW3 Ranked Play will let you play like the pros with restricted maps, weapons, and specific rules to keep the game as competitive as possible. Now, with Modern Warfare 3 well into its first season, you might be wondering when Ranked Play is coming to the game.
Here’s when Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play will arrive in MW3.
MW3 Ranked Play release date
Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play is now live after arriving on Thursday, January 18, 2024, following the MW3 Season 1 Reloaded update that arrived on January 17.
Ranked Play was supposed to arrive on January 17, but the devs confirmed that the official release of Ranked Play would be delayed.
Treyarch then confirmed that after providing a fix for the issues that delayed its launch, the plan was for Ranked Play to go live on January 18. Fans of competitive Call of Duty can now jump into Ranked Play.
It was revealed at the Call of Duty Next event that Treyarch would bring Ranked Play to MW3, as Greg Reisdorf, Sledgehammer’s Multiplayer Creative Director, said they planned to “update it, modernize it from Modern Warfare 2, bring that forward. Then for Season 1.5, mid-season one, we’ll have it out and that’s when it’s going to launch.”
The Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play mode will continue to encourage players to climb Skills Divisions and earn SR along the way.
MW3 Ranked Play requires players to follow the rules and restrictions of the Call of Duty League (CDL). If you’re not familiar with the CDL format, this has players competing in matches of Search & Destroy, Hardpoint, and Control in a 4v4 format with specific weapon, Equipment, and Perk restrictions in place.
