Modern Warfare 2 Shipment

Modern Warfare 2 players will have to contend with a major change to Shipment’s crates as the Season 1 Reloaded map is set to focus on ground combat.

Modern Warfare 2 will soon receive a host of new content when the Season 1 Reloaded update arrives on December 14. This highly anticipated update is set to deliver vital weapon buffs and nerfs to balance the game following its debut season.

In addition, bug fixes should also arrive to alleviate the frustration that some players have had throughout Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2. Players will also receive a reimagined version of the classic Shipment map on December 14.

Fans of MW2 have been outspoken about the need for new maps and hopefully, Shipment’s arrival alongside the previously released Shoot House should diversify the map pool. However, the Call of Duty team announced that this version of Shipment would differ greatly from that of Vanguard and Modern Warfare (2019.)

No crate climbing in Modern Warfare 2 Shipment

Shipment has been remastered several times since its debut in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The Modern Warfare and Vanguard iterations introduced a new dynamic in which players could climb the various crates across the map.

The ability to climb crates on Shipment added to the small map’s chaos. Thanks to a Shipment blog, the CoD team revealed that players will not be able to climb crates in Modern Warfare 2: “there’s no climbing up into a higher container from this point; in this Shipment, the battle remains on the ground floor.”

It didn’t take long for players to express their opinions of this drastic change in the replies to CharlieIntel’s tweet: “So glad to hear that. That really ruined shipment in Vanguard imo. Shipment was just not designed with verticality in mind.”

Some even exclaimed that “This is gonna be the best Shipment since COD WW2.” The majority of players are excited about this return to Shipment’s roots, devoid of climbing.

However, some players expressed concern about removing a feature that allowed players to finesse opponents with movement. “Love that you guys are removing any essence of outplay,” one player said sarcastically.

The final verdict is likely to appear on December 14 as players rush to test out this updated version of Shipment. Shipment is set to receive a Christmas overhaul on December 21, as Modern Warfare 2 players enjoy the Holidays.
