Modern Warfare 2 players blame Shipment for “ruining Call of Duty”

Shipment is one of Call of Duty’s most beloved maps, but a lot of Modern Warfare 2 players seem to feel it’s actually “ruining” the FPS franchise.

Modern Warfare 2 is now in the Season 2 Reloaded update, which brought new content for players to enjoy such as the Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle and Himmelmat Expo map, which some are hoping will arrive in Ranked Play.

Despite this new content and map, Shipment remains one of the most popular multiplayer attractions to players due to its simplicity and how easy it is to complete challenges on the chaotic map.

While players begged for the map prior to its release during Season 1, after Reddit user BigPaleontologist520 put a post up asking players in the community to share their “unpopular MW2 2022 opinions,” many seem to mention Shipment.

In what may not actually be an unpopular opinion due to the number of players sharing similar views under the Reddit post, it seems many actually feel that “Shipment is ruining Call of Duty.”

One user believes that Shipment stops players from giving maps “a chance because they can’t wrap their heads around learning angles, points, and flanks. They’d rather play on a spawn die box.”

Another comment shares a similar opinion, as they said “Shipment is one of the worst maps in the franchise and all of the people who like it are sharing the same singular brain cell.”

That said, there are some who know what Shipment is, and although they believe it’s a “dogs**t map that’s only good for grinding,” they do feel it has a “purpose,” and that the devs “should just make a Shipment 24/7 permanent playlist.”

Who knows what the future holds for Shipment in Call of Duty, but the map has returned numerous times now, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it again in the future.
