Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players uncover hints to more Ruinous Legendaries
The Pokemon CompanyThe Ruinous Legendaries are among the most iconic additions to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and with a new Mythical on the cards, players are pretty sure that there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to these four Pokemon.
With the Indigo Disk DLC, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players were able to catch many returning Legendaries in addition to Terapagos. But there’s a certain set of Legendary Pokemon from the Paldea region that have become huge favorites among fans.
Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, Wo-Chien, and Chi-Yu, also known as the Treasures of Ruin or Ruinous Legendaries, are a quartet of Pokemon with heavy lore and top-notch performance in battles, many use them in their teams.
Now, with news of a new Mythical alongside various hints and Easter eggs in the game, fans think that it might have to do something with the Ruinous Legends, in parallel to the lore of the Teal Mask DLC.
Reddit user ‘KingVenomous123’ made a post titled “What if this happened?” and elaborated on their theory that “since we have Pecharunt as the mythical connection between Ogerpon and the Loyal 3, what if we had a mythical Pokemon that’s connected to the Ruinous Quartet?”
Fellow Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans took to the comments section, agreeing with the OP that there’s more to come about the Ruinous Legendaries.
One user speculated: “I would love to see more on the Ruinous Quartet. I thought their story, though limited, was really cool. Off-topic, but maybe they’re the building blocks for a prequel game like Legends Arceus,” before another added: “It’d still a pretty fun add as a major role to a prequel game.”
While the OP thinks that the new Mythical may be connected to the Treasures of Ruin, a player had a different thought. “I was thinking just another Ruinous Pokemon we didn’t know bout or somewhat connected to them like how Keldeo was kinda to the 3 Swords type of thing,” they stated.
To this, another trainer pointed out that “there is room for another imo, because their abilities lower Attack, Defense, Special Attack, and Special Defense — but no Speed.”
The Pokemon CompanyOthers feel that the new addition to these Legendaries may be in a different region, like the Regis. “They could introduce more in future games, like how they introduced Regieleki and Regidrago five generations after the original trio of Regis were introduced,” a fan explained.
With more players convinced that “they could easily make more Ruinous Treasure Pokemon because of their origin story,” it does seem possible that the new Mythical could be connected to them.
