MW3 players gutted “dope” Haunting skins won’t carry over to Black Ops 6

The Modern Warfare 3 devs revealed a ton of horror crossover skins as part of Season 6’s The Haunting event, but players are disappointed that these cosmetics will be useless in multiplayer once Black Ops 6 launches.

The Haunting is a fan-favorite event in Call of Duty, as it gives both Warzone and multiplayer a Halloween makeover. This includes a host of spooky skins, and this year’s version brings iconic killers like Michael Myers and Art the Clown, as well as The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon.

However, while these skins will still be available to Warzone players in the coming months, none of them will carry over to Black Ops 6 when it launches on October 25. This has left many players frustrated, as they feel they’re being charged for items that they’ll only get enjoyment out of for a short time.

“WHY would they give us such a dope skin when it won’t even carry over into the next multiplayer in 6 weeks,” asked Reddit user ‘PuddingZealousideal6’ in reference to the Michael Myers skin. “I wish they would just do the Carry Forward again for operators.”

Plenty of other players agreed, with some arguing that The Haunting Operators should come to BO6 based on when it launches.

“Same thing came to my mind. Like why not just add him to BO6? BO6 literally comes out before Halloween,” said one reply, before another added: “Imagine how much money that would pull in for marketing BO6.”

All of Modern Warfare 2’s skins carried over to MW3 this time last year, but that is because Sledghehammer Games’ title was more of an extension of MW2 that even brought all of the existing weapons.

However, Black Ops 6 is a clean slate with a totally new set of guns and gameplay that looks and feels very different. Despite this, fans still think it’s a “slap in the face” to those who spend money on the Battle Pass and store bundles this late in MW3’s lifecycle.

“Collab skins should be the exception to the ‘no carry over’ rule. At least the more recent ones,” argued another reply.

The good news is that all of your Operators and weapons will be available in Warzone after it integrates with Black Ops 6 in Season 1. So, if you’re a BR player, you can still dominate the new Area 99 map with all of your skins from The Haunting event.
