Bethesda games have a stark identity and one of the franchises that helped create that was Fallout. Alongside The Elder Scrolls, Fallout has become an iconic franchise in the gaming industry, and one of the most loved installments of the post-apocalyptic universe is Fallout 3.
The title launched in 2008 and won many awards including Game of the Year. The open-world gameplay and character-leveling system seen in Fallout 3 would become a staple for Bethesda’s RPGs, as a rendition of the same formula can be seen in Starfield over ten years later.
Thanks to recent Microsoft FTC document leaks amidst their ongoing acquisition of Activision, a Fallout 3 Remaster was identified in Xbox’s release schedule, so here’s everything we know so far.

Fallout 3 Remastered has not yet been confirmed, however, it was listed in the leaked Microsoft release schedule along with an Oblivion Remaster and The Elder Scrolls 6.
Phil Spencer did regard the release schedule as “old,” so plans may have changed. That said, there’s a strong chance that the game will be remastered, especially as Xbox are looking to increase their catalog of exclusive titles and the leaked release schedule features titles that have already been launched and announced such as Starfield and its DLC, giving it credibility.
Ultimately, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to say whether or not a remaster for Fallout 3 will be happening.
Does Fallout 3 Remastered have a release date?
There is no official release date for a Fallout 3 Remaster, however, according to the leaks, the potential remaster is set for a 2024 release window.
That said, the release schedule is old, and as other titles on the list were delayed, there’s a chance that either the game will not be getting remastered anymore, or it will be released later down the line as opposed to 2024.

What platforms will Fallout 3 Remastered be on?
Although it has not been confirmed and Fallout 3 was previously seen on PlayStation, we expect the Fallout 3 remaster to be exclusive to Xbox and PC.
This seems to be the plan for Bethesda games going forward since Microsoft acquired the developers, as Starfield is a good example of that, and Elder Scrolls 6 is also rumored to follow the same path.
Keep in mind that most of this information is speculation and leaks, so take it with a pinch of salt before any confirmation has arrived.
