The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is an iconic Bethesda title that looks like it’s getting a remaster according to Microsoft FTC leaks. Here’s all the information you need about the Oblivion remaster.

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls franchise is one of the most popular in gaming, and despite all of the attention Skyrim received, veteran fans of the medieval fantasy universe often express their adoration for the fourth installment, Oblivion.

While Starfield is flying high after a successful launch, the Microsoft FTC leaks have opened the floodgates when it comes to future unannounced Bethesda projects, as a list of scheduled releases was unveiled.

One of the titles revealed in the leak was a remaster for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, so for those interested, here’s everything we know so far.

Does the Oblivion remaster have a release date? Leaked details

Unfortunately, the existence of an Oblivion remaster has not been confirmed, let alone a release date or window.

According to the leaked Microsoft release schedule, a remaster for Oblivion was scheduled for 2022, but this document was regarded as “old” by Phil Spencer, so clearly things have changed.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is one of the most iconic Bethesda games to date.

We speculate that the titles in the leaked release schedule may have been pushed back a couple of years, so we could see the Oblivion Remaster anywhere from Q4 of 2023 onwards. The Elder Scrolls VI is rumored to be set for 2026, but the release schedule had it down for 2024. Further, Starfield was delayed from 2021 to 2023, supporting our two-year delay theory.

Perhaps the plan of having the Oblivion Remaster drop two years before The Elder Scrolls VI will still stand and the remastered title will be released next year, but then again, it may have been scrapped altogether.

Keep in mind that this is just speculation, and so as soon as there is official confirmation regarding its existence and release date, we’ll be sure to update this piece so stay tuned.

Oblivion Remastered platforms

The Oblivion Remaster will likely be exclusive to Xbox and PC, with a strong chance that it will also be available on the Game Pass.

Although it has not been confirmed, due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda and the reports of Elder Scrolls VI’s exclusivity to Xbox and PC, it is likely that the Oblivion Remaster will follow the same plan.

That’s all we know so far about the leaked Oblivion remaster. For more on Bethesda games, make sure you check out some of our guides on Starfield:
