The Nintendo Switch is one of the best-selling consoles of all time, and players have a wide variety of games at their disposal. From hit franchises like Zelda and Pokemon to blockbusters like Hogwarts Legacy, the Switch is renowned for its gameplay variety.
Following Microsoft’s high-profile acquisition of Activision, many FPS fans who own the handheld hybrid console are wondering if Call of Duty will make its way to the Nintendo Switch.
Modern Warfare 3 arrives on November 10, 2023, and while it will arrive on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, as expected, some fans are curious about its availability on the Switch.
Can you play MW3 on Nintendo Switch?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is not available to play on the Nintendo Switch. Despite Microsoft’s plans to bring Call of Duty titles to the Nintendo Switch, MW3 will not arrive on the handheld console.
Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision was officially recognized well after the development period for MW3 came to a close. Therefore, it’s understandable that the franchise’s newest title didn’t make the cut to appear on the Nintendo Switch.
Bringing upcoming Call of Duty titles to the Nintendo Switch will likely present the devs with unique challenges. Microsoft have yet to reveal the specific Call of Duty titles that will appear on the Nintendo Switch, but we know that Modern Warfare 3 will not be one of them at launch.
However, the next title that fans can hope to see come to the Nintendo Switch is Call of Duty 2024, which is reportedly being developed by Treyarch.
