Hogwarts Legacy Nintendo Switch release date & details

Hogwarts Legacy will be arriving at a later date for the Nintendo Switch compared to other platforms. Here’s when Hogwarts Legacy will release for the Nintendo console so players know when they can explore the Wizarding World.
Hogwarts Legacy has officially launched worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, allowing players to explore Hogwarts and fulfill their childhood dreams.
Avalanche Software’s Wizarding World game is easily one of 2023’s biggest game releases, and while it has launched on the platforms mentioned above as well as previous-gen consoles, there are still players out there on other platforms that are waiting to get their hands on it.
The game is now out on PS4 and Xbox One, but the Nintendo Switch release date suffered yet another delay. So, when will Hogwarts Legacy officially release on the Switch?
Hogwarts Legacy Nintendo Switch release date
Hogwarts Legacy will release for Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2023, with pre-orders available to players. It was originally planned for a July 25 release, but a new delay was announced on May 12.
This may come as a surprise to many, as the game is pretty demanding even for the newest generation of consoles and high-spec PCs. That said, clearly the devs are having to work extra hard to bring Hogwarts Legacy to Switch, hence its later release date.
The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy will be the same game with all of the same features that are in the other versions as far as we know.

There’s currently no gameplay footage of Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch, but we expect the game to see a significant downgrade to run on Nintendo’s portable console.

Will Hogwarts Legacy be available on Nintendo Switch Cloud streaming?
Many games on Nintendo Switch can be played through Cloud streaming, which is a service on the console that allows players to run more demanding games through a server, instead of putting all of the load on the hardware.
Unfortunately, there has been no confirmation regarding a Cloud version of Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch, and at the moment it seems that players will need to buy the physical cartridge in order to play it.
Hogwarts Legacy is an extremely large game, with a massive open world filled with details. Therefore, it is likely to look very different from other versions of the game, as the devs will have to optimize it for the Switch’s hardware so that it can run smoothly.
