CoD players are desperate for a new smaller Resurgence map to arrive in Warzone 2 after Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island were removed from the original, and new rumors claim it’ll launch as soon as Season 2.

Warzone players absolutely loved the Resurgence maps for their fast-paced gameplay and respawn mechanics, and since Warzone 2 only launched with Al Mazrah, they’ve been desperate for small maps to return.

Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep were even removed from the original game, but with Warzone 2’s first Resurgence map expected to arrive in 2023, new rumors claim it could arrive as soon as Season 2.

Writing for Insider Gaming, Tom Henderson said that “fan theories and some behind-the-scenes comments have led Insider Gaming to believe the map could be released for Season 2.”

They said they have been “told by two people that the resurgence map will be coming as a part of Season 2,” but they can’t make any guarantees because they usually wait until three sources confirm it.

This Resurgence map appeared to leak online back in December, with the leaked image showing POIs such as Castle, Residential, Port, and Powerplant. The leaked image has since been taken down due to copyright, lending weight to its authenticity.

Henderson also speculates that World at War’s Castle could feature as the POI in this new Resurgence map after an area bearing a striking resemblance to the classic map appeared in leaked Season 2 key art.

Leaks suggested that the new Resurgence map is coming in mid-2023, and the developers themselves said there would be “exciting developments” for “fans of small Battle Royale maps.”

With Warzone 2 Season 2 expected to arrive on Wednesday, February 1, we expect to start hearing more about the next season towards the end of January. You can also check out the leaks surrounding Season 2’s upcoming weapons.
