During COD Next, Call of Duty have announced that fan-favorite maps Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep from the first iteration of Warzone are coming back to the game.

After the release of Warzone 2 alongside Modern Warfare 2, and the following update to Warzone Caldera, beloved Resurgence maps Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep were removed from the game. Despite being highly requested to return, these maps haven’t reappeared since their initial removal.

Luckily for fans of the mode, Call of Duty have surprisingly confirmed that both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps will return to Warzone, allowing players to enjoy some of the most well-received battlegrounds once again.

When are Rebirth Island & Fortune’s Keep coming to Warzone?

Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will make their way to Warzone in 2024 on two separate release dates. Fortune’s Keep is scheduled to launch first, in early 2024, and Rebirth Island is set to arrive later in 2024. They’ll both arrive sometime after Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone’s integration.

In addition, Ted Timmins, Senior Creative Director at Raven Software, confirmed that the reintroduction of the maps is being led by the teams that originally brought them to life, High Moon Studios and Beenox.

Although not many details were revealed about whether the maps will remain the same as their original version or if they will undergo updates and changes, players were quick to point out that this time, consoles will have access to an FoV slider feature, which wasn’t available in the original version of Warzone.

While Warzone will feature three maps at the start of Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 following the integration of the new map Urzikstan, the addition of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will give players even more options to enjoy the free-to-play title.

All in all, that’s everything you need to know about the long-awaited return of Resurgence’s Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.
