Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two revealed that they’re gearing up for “record” earnings in the near future and potentially gave away the GTA 6 release window.

After waiting a long wait, Grand Theft Auto fans finally received an update about the highly-anticipated GTA 6 after Rockstar announced on February 4 that the game is officially in development.

The game’s exact launch date has been a point of speculation, with some leaks claiming that it will have a late 2023 release, and a potential release window may have been revealed by Take-Two Interactive.

The Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick shared some of the company’s goals in the Q3 2022 earnings call, explaining that they expect huge growth and have been gearing up for “record” level earnings.

They singled out the fiscal year 2023, stating that it is expected to mark “net bookings growth” because of multiple “exciting releases,” which means that we could see GTA 6 arrive around that year.

With 2023 set to be Take-Two’s biggest year yet, it would make sense to release the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series around that time to help the company set new records.

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that this is currently just speculation, and Take-Two have other successful IPs that they could focus on in 2023, so take these comments with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation.

The Take-Two net bookings are currently $833 million with the Grand Theft Auto series being among its “largest contributors,” and the fan-favorite GTA 5 alone accounts for 160 million of those sales.

Hopefully, we’ll get some more details about GTA 6’s development from Take-Two or Rockstar Games in the near future, and we’ll be sure to update you as soon as that information becomes available.
