Delays these days aren’t uncommon, at least not for a game as massive as GTA 6. So, here is the latest status on GTA 6, detailing whether it has been delayed from its original tentative date of 2025.

GTA 6 is currently slated for a release sometime in the first half of 2025, and given how anticipated Rockstar’s upcoming open-world epic is, players are going wild all the time with their speculation just to get a hint at when we’ll next see the title in action.

But all that anticipation may continue a little longer if GTA 6 is pushed further. Here is what the rumors and official news speak about a potential delay.

Is GTA 6 delayed?

No, Rockstar have not hinted at any potential delay for GTA 6, which means the title is currently scheduled for Q1 of 2025.

Fans have been waiting over 10 years for GTA 6.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that GTA 6 had entered the final stages of development and that Rockstar Games’ staff were asked to “return to the office five days a week starting in April.”

GTA 6 was first announced as the 2025 title, and later Take-Two hinted at a Q1 2025 release in their investor call. However, a recent report by Kotaku claims that there is a possibility that the title may slip to either late 2025 or 2026.

According Kotaku, Rockstar is aiming for a spring 2025 release date, with an early 2025 release as a goal. They also alleged that there is uncertainty about the schedule within Rockstar and that it could get pushed to fall 2025, with even a 2026 release on the cards as a “fallback plan” or “emergency” plan.

The report from Kotaku is the only major rumor hinting at a possible delay. Of course, given how Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed multiple times and delays have become common industry-wide, it wouldn’t really be a surprise if GTA 6 is delayed.

We’ll update you whenever there are more rumors or Rockstar confirms any delay. Until then, for more on upcoming blockbusters, check out:
