A GTA 6 fan posted a wild theory online about an upcoming trailer and quickly got roasted for it.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is the newest installment in the GTA series and is set to release in 2025 by Rockstar Games. It focuses on an open world where you are able to drive cool cars, get money, and pretty much live your best crime life. There is a main story focus with sidequests, but once you finish those, you can just enjoy the world as you please.

For more than a decade, fans of GTA have been eagerly awaiting the announcement that promised them the 6th installment in the series. Finally, on December 5, 2023, the first reveal trailer was released.

The trailer was received with a lot of excitement, but people are a little disappointed that they still have to wait until 2025 to see the game at all. To fill up their time, fans have taken to social media with theories about when the next trailer will be released, what the story will be about, and what new features we may be able to see.

One player shared what may be one of the wildest theories to come from this excitement yet: that the next trailer has been sneakily revealed through bullet holes in a car in a promotional image. The OP seems to believe that the bullet holes in the car are braille for September.

What was most likely a tongue-in-cheek post sent others reeling, and the responses ranged from disbelief to intrigue.

One player jokingly said, “6 bullet holes means GTA 6. My hypothesis is correct. Not yours, sorry,” while another claimed, “They are actually 1-3-2, which (132) is the number of weeks until the release.”

Not all fans were impressed with the OP’s theory and got to insulting them. “Touch grass,” one suggested. Another simply remarked, “Go to bed.”

Some in-between comments seemed to show some worry about the OP, with a fan saying, “My man. You are way too deep in the hole.” Mostly, though, the comments suggested that this theory did not make much sense, and the OP was merely constructing wild theories to pass the time.

Lastly, a fan said that this kind of theorizing may even just be the fault of GTA’s long-awaited return: “This is what no new GTA for 10 years does to a motherf****r.”
