With the GTA 6 trailer and announcement, you may be wondering which platforms Rockstar’s upcoming title will be released on, more specifically, whether it will be on PS4 and Xbox One.

GTA 6 has officially been announced along with its first trailer, which provides a first look at what the game has to offer. Releasing in 2025, GTA 6 takes you back to Vice City, but this time it seems to be a more accurate depiction of Miami, USA.

You may be excited and eager to know more about GTA 6, with questions looming around the main protagonists, timeline, and map size. That said, as well as gameplay, you may also concerned about the platforms GTA 6 will be available on.

While GTA 6 has been confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, what about PS4 and Xbox One? Here’s everything you need to know.

Will GTA 6 be available on PS4 & Xbox One?

As it stands, GTA 6 will not be released on PS4 and Xbox One. Take-Two Interactive Software, Rockstar Games’ publisher confirmed this in a blog post.

In their GTA 6 announcement blog, they confirmed that the game will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no mention of the previous generation of consoles. This also means that, as it stands, the game is not confirmed to be launching on PC either.

While this is bleak news for PS4, Xbox One, and PC players, it doesn’t mean that GTA 6 will never come to these platforms. GTA 5 was brought to PC many years after its release, so there’s a chance the same will happen for GTA 6.

We’ll have to wait and see if anything changes. If any news regarding GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One is announced, we’ll be sure to update this piece so stay tuned. For now, check out some of our other GTA 5 guides:
