Starfruit in Stardew Valley

Starfruit are a very special kind of fruit in Stardew Valley that can only be grown in certain conditions. Here is everything you need to know about it, including how to grow it and what you can use it for.

Stardew Valley has a lot of fruit and veggies that you can grow on your farm to make it profitable, and Starfruit is one of the best out there

It can take some time to find and grow, however, as Starfruit Seeds are not as abundant as others. Here is where you can find them, how to grow them, and what you can use Starfruit for in Stardew Valley.

Where to find Starfruit Seeds in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley players can get Starfruit Seeds at the Traveling Cart, the Oasis shop, or by donating 15 items to the Museum

The Traveling Cart in Stardew Valley
You can find the Traveling Cart near the Wizard’s Tower on Fridays and Sundays.

Starfruit Seeds aren’t readily available to buy in many places, but if you’re lucky, you can find your first one at the Traveling Cart that arrives in Pelican Town every Friday and Sunday.

Otherwise, you are more likely to find them once you have donated 15 items to Gunther in the Museum. Once you have unlocked the bus and you have access to the Desert, the Oasis shop is a reliable place to get Starfruit Seeds from.

You can also make your own Starfruit Seeds by popping matured Starfruit into a Seedmaker. This will take some time, though, so be patient if you want to take this route to build up your Starfruit Seed collection.

How to grow Starfruit in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Starfruit grows in the Summer, and takes a total of 13 days to mature

The best way to make full use of Starfruit is to grow it in your Greenhouse. Since it only grows in one season, using some space in your Greenhouse makes sure that you can get it year-round for its advantages (and money).

If you don’t use your Greenhouse, then you will only be able to yield Starfruit twice in Summer, which equates to twice in the whole year.

Uses for Starfruit in Stardew Valley

Starfruit can be sold for gold in Stardew Valley, or you can make it into wine for an even larger profit. They’re also needed if you want to build Junimo Huts on your farm.

Junimos will gather your crops for you.

To turn Starfruit into wine, you’re going to need a Keg. You can get your first Keg when you complete the Artisan bundle in the Community Center, and you can craft them with Wood (30), Copper Bar (1), Iron Bar (1), and Oak Resin (1).

It will take around seven days to turn the Starfruit into Starfruit wine, but then you can sell each base bottle for 2,250 gold. Compared to the 750 gold you get for selling a base fruit, it’s completely worth it.

Stafruit are not used in any recipes, but they make a great gift for some NPCs. Here are the characters who like Starfruit as a gift:

  • Demetrius
  • Elliot
  • Harvey
  • Jodi
  • Kent
  • Leah
  • Linus
  • Pam
  • Robin
  • Sandy
  • Shane

Lastly, you need nine Starfruit to build a Junimo Hut. Once Junimos are on your farm, they will harvest any crops that are ready for you. You can craft them once you finish the Goblin Problem quest for the Wizard.
