How to transmog gear in Diablo 4

Diablo 4 players who want to change their appearance without compromising on stats can rely on the transmog feature that lets you add visual effects to gear. From unlocking to using it, here’s everything to know about the transmog gear option in Diablo 4.
After you choose a character class in Diablo 4, it’s all about roaming around the open world, killing as many enemies as possible, and collecting the best gear. Although some NPCs sell gear, the best way is to defeat powerful enemies and test your luck.
Having said that, not every piece of gear is useful in Diablo 4 and after some time, you have to either sell or salvage these items. Luckily, the salvage and transmog system grants you a lot more than just Gold for selling items.
We already have a detailed guide on how to salvage gear, and here’s how you can transmog it in Diablo 4 ahead of the upcoming Server Slam weekend.

How to unlock transmog in Diablo 4
You can unlock transmog in Diablo 4 by salvaging gear for the blacksmith in Kyovashad. Once you salvage an item, you’ll unlock new appearances for it, and the transmog feature lets you add these visual effects without affecting the combat-related stats.
If you cannot find the blacksmith, just look for the anvil icon on the map when in Kyovashad.

Every town in the game has blacksmiths and wardrobes but since the betas so far have only showcased Fractured Peaks, we’ve used Kyovashad as an example for this guide.

- Head to Kyovashad and look for the wardrobe icon. It is located right above the anvil icon for the blacksmith.
- Open your wardrobe where you’ll see your salvaged gear and the transmog screen.
