Diablo 4‘s worldwide launch is scheduled for June 6, promising an unforgettable solo or co-op campaign, along with plenty of endgame content set to keep players busy for countless hours. The much-anticipated sequel doesn’t stop at hitting the level cap, as Blizzard have committed to supporting it for years with post-launch updates.

With so much to get through, players will be wondering if they can chip away at Diablo 4 even when they aren’t connected to the internet.

So, can you play Diablo 4 offline? Here’s everything you need to know.

Can Diablo 4 be played offline?

Diablo 4 cannot be played offline and requires an internet connection at all times. Even those who don’t engage with co-op features and want to battle the evils of Sanctuary alone must be online and connected to the servers.

This might come as a letdown to players who were hoping to enjoy Diablo 4 on the move where an internet connection is hard to come by, but to save your character and progress the game demands a continuous connection to Battle.net.

This also means that losing connection mid-game will cause you to be temporarily out of action until your console or PC is back online, so keep that in mind before hopping into Diablo 4.

Diablo 3 received an offline mode when it arrived on Nintendo Switch, but the feature never made its way over to the PlayStation, Xbox, or PC versions of the game. So, while we can’t rule out the possibility of an offline mode being added in the future, the devs haven’t given any indication that this is part of their plans.
