Blizzard will be supporting Diablo 4 for years to come, with new seasons dropping every three months. But can you play Diablo 4 offline, without an internet connection?

Diablo 4 has evolved considerably since launch in terms of the overall quality of the game and the classes currently present have been balanced repeatedly in an attempt to keep the game fresh. The developers have also revealed that a new expansion called Vessel of Hatred is also in the works.

Considering all of the new content on the way, players haven’t stopped wondering if they’ll be able to play the game without any internet connection.

So, can you play Diablo 4 offline? Here’s everything you need to know.

Does Diablo 4 have an offline mode?

Diablo 4 cannot be played offline and requires an internet connection at all times. Even those who don’t engage with co-op features and want to battle the evils of Sanctuary alone must be online and connected to the servers.

This has become a controversial issue among Diablo 4 players, who claim that there aren’t enough multiplayer features to justify the need to always be connected. Still, users need to have a continuous connection to Battle.net to save their characters and progress.

This also means that losing connection mid-game will cause you to be temporarily out of action until your console or PC is back online, so keep that in mind before hopping into Diablo 4.

Diablo 3 received an offline mode when it arrived on Nintendo Switch, but the feature never made its way over to the PlayStation, Xbox, or PC versions of the game. So, while we can’t rule out the possibility of an offline mode being added in the future, the devs haven’t given any indication that this is part of their plans.
