What is the Diablo 4 Battle Pass?

The Battle Pass in Diablo 4 is a three-month-long progression system that grants you cosmetic rewards and premium currency for playing the game and completing the pre-decided Season Journey challenges.

How much is the Diablo 4 Battle Pass?

The Diablo 4 Battle Pass is available in three purchase options:

Free Battle Pass

There are 28 free tiers in the Battle Pass in Season 3, compared to 27 from last season.

However, you will still get access to some exciting player armor basics and a Mount Trophy, along with five Weapon Transmogs and 20 Smoldering Ashes.

Premium Battle Pass

The Premium Battle Pass in Diablo 4 Season 3 costs $10, as it did in past seasons. It has 62 tiers and offers some premium rewards such as the Adamant armor set, the Clockword Equid mount, and the Spheral Barding mount armor.

Accelerated Battle Pass

The Accelerated Battle Pass in Diablo 4 costs about 2800 platinum, which amounts to around $28. It offers everything that the Premium Battle Pass does. Additionally, you immediately unlock 20 tiers and the Spinning Loom emote.

Diablo 4 Spheral Barding cosmetic
The Spheral Barding Mount Armor is one of the rewards from the Season 3 Accelerated Pass.

Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4’s Battle Pass are free for all players because they affect gameplay. The developers confirmed earlier in Season 1 that you only have to spend money on cosmetics and that there aren’t any pay-to-win mechanics.

How to unlock the Diablo 4 Battle Pass

Once you create a new character in Diablo 4 Season 3, you will automatically be eligible to move forward in the free tier of the Battle Pass.

While you can progress the Diablo 4 Battle Pass without completing the campaign, seasonal elements like story missions will require you to complete the main story. Once you’ve defeated Lilith, the game will give you the option to skip the campaign for new characters.

Do you need a new character to progress the Diablo 4 Battle Pass?

The Diablo 4 Battle Pass will require players to make a new seasonal character as their character in the Eternal realm cannot progress in seasonal content. Once the season ends, the progress you’ve made with the seasonal character transfers to the characters in the Eternal realm.

Additionally, playing the campaign with your seasonal character will also progress the Battle Pass and Season Journey, according to Diablo’s General Manager at Blizzard, Rod Fergusson on X (formerly Twitter).

How long to complete Diablo 4 Battle Pass?

While talking to PC Gamer, the Associate Director for Diablo 4, Joe Piepiora revealed that the Battle Pass will take almost 80 hours to complete in Season 1. The Season 3 Battle Pass has more or less the same tiers and rewards as the previous seasons, so it should take the same amount of time to complete as well.
