With Season 4 right around the corner, the Warzone 2 developers will look to update the game with a ton of new content. A major addition is set to arrive with the Warzone 2 Season 4 update as the devs revealed that a new map called Vondel will debut.

Rumors concerning Vondel have been swirling for months now and players finally have their first look at the new Warzone 2 map.

What is Vondel in Warzone 2?

According to the Season 4 blog, Vondel is a new Warzone 2 map that will take players to a Baroque European city.

While Vondel will boast Resurgence mechanics and allow for DMZ play at launch, the devs confirmed that Vondel will also have support for Warzone 2’s Battle Royale mode come Season 4 Reloaded.

Warzone 2 Vondel release date

Vondel will hit Warzone 2 on June 14, 2023, with the Season 4 update.

Warzone 2 Vondel map features

There are plenty of exclusive features to discover when it comes to Warzone 2’s Vondel map.

For starters, Vondel will occasionally feature dynamic weather effects, as thick fog is expected to roll around: “Especially during Resurgence and Battle Royale modes, Vondel’s usual weather is sunny with very few clouds — if any — in the sky. However, there is the possibility of fog rolling in due to the marine layer.”

Players can also expect new features tied to the Assault on Vondel event, like the new Reinforcement Flare Field Upgrade. Take a look at all of the gameplay elements that Vondel will bring to Warzone 2:

Several of the new features that will appear across Vondel, like the Taxicabs on the Canals method of transportation, are tied to the Assault on Vondel event. This event will task players to complete challenges and work toward community rewards.

Essentially, when players reach the community milestones that the devs set, they’ll unlock one of the new features set to appear across Vondel, like the Reinforcement Flare Field Upgrade.

With Vondel’s release date fast approaching, Warzone 2 fans are eager to discover the map’s POIs. Vondel is said to be smaller than Al Mazrah but still bigger than Ashika Island, so there’s plenty of room for interesting locations.
