Warzone 2 players have been desperate for map rotations to arrive in order to offer more variety, and the devs have confirmed that Rotating Resurgence Playlists will arrive in Season 4 Reloaded.

The Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded update is set to bring a ton of fresh content to the CoD battle royale, from the brand-new MX Guardian Shotgun to a crossover with The Boys. It’s also delivering the Occupation Scan in-game event to Vondel, as the devs remain committed to their new map.

Since the arrival of Vondel back at the start of Season 4, many fans have been calling for it to be rotated in Warzone 2 with Ashika Island, to give fans of both maps more variety from match to match. Now, the devs have announced the Rotating Resurgence Playlists feature will arrive in Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded for the first time.

In the Season 4 Reloaded blog posted on July 10, it was confirmed that a “map rotation system” will be implemented from Wednesday, July 12, in “Resurgence modes only.”

“After a certain amount of time specified in-game, the Rotating Resurgence Playlists will shift from Vondel to Ashika Island and vice versa for a given squad size,” said the devs.

Vondel in Warzone 2
Vondel has been a popular addition since arriving in Season 4.

Based on the details released in the blog, it appears that different squad sizes will have access to a different map at different times. For example, the Solos map could be Ashika Island while Quads is only playable on Vondel.

Apex Legends makes use of a similar feature for its battle royale maps, which are rotated every 90 minutes. However, it wasn’t revealed how long Ashika Island and Vondel would remain active in Warzone 2 before being swapped out.

It does appear that the two maps will rotate fairly regularly though, as the devs added: “The best Resurgence squads should prove their mettle by winning back-to-back matches in Vondel and Ashika Island, and the truly elite can go on winning streaks for hours while (virtually) jet-setting between those two locales.”

We should receive a full explanation of how the Warzone 2 Rotating Resurgence Playlists feature will work once the Season 4 Reloaded update goes live on July 14.
