The Season 4 update for Warzone 2 is right around the corner and with the devs revealing what’s to come, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest content drops the game has seen so far. Players can expect a brand-new map called Vondel, three new weapons at launch, and several new gameplay features.

One of these new features is the Reinforcement Flare Field Upgrade, which is tied to the new map and the Assault on Vondel event.

What is Warzone 2 Reinforcement Flare?

When activated, Warzone 2’s Reinforcement Flare will allow one of your squadmates to redeploy at random.

For starters, it’s important to note that the Reinforcement Flare can be bought at a Buy Station or found while scavenging Vondel. As of now, there’s no telling how much the Reinforcement Flare will cost at Buy Stations, but it’s expected to be less than a traditional squadmate redeployment.

The Field Upgrade will be an exclusive feature of the Vondel map in Season 4, and the blog indicates that it’ll be an “Assault on Vondel Event Unlock,” but at the moment there’s no telling what this entails.

The new tool brings a risk and reward element to your Warzone 2 matches on Vondel, as you attempt to bring a squadmate back and reinforce your chances of winning. It seems the catch with the new Field Upgrade is the fact that you don’t have control over which squadmate returns.

Despite the lack of control, the Reinforcement Flare can be a major game-changer for squads looking to make a push for the endgame and secure a win with reinforced numbers. Having the Field Upgrade in your inventory also eliminates the need to make a potentially fatal trip to a Buy Station to buy back one of your squadmates.

Keep in mind that a signal flare will expose your position in the sky when you decide to activate the Reinformcenet Flare. Therefore, picking the right time to use it could be the key to success in Season 4.
