Paradox Pokemon like Sandy Shocks can quickly change the outcome of battles in your favor. To ace it against powerful Pokemon, here are the weaknesses, resistances, strengths, and best moves for Sandy Shocks.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet shook the meta by introducing the powerful Paradox Pokemon, and while picks like Roaring Moon, Iron Valiant, and Flutter Mane are OP, using Sandy Shocks can be tricky.

To help you master this strange Electric/Ground-type Pokemon, here’s all about the weaknesses, resistances, strengths, and best moveset for Sandy Shocks.

Sandy Shocks weaknesses explained in Pokemon

Sandy Shocks is weak to Grass, Ground, Ice, and Water-type attacks in Pokemon.

It has decent bulk, with its Defense stat being higher than its Special Defense. But, I’ve often used the popular Held Item Assault Vest to boost its Special Defense by 50%. If you’re keen on doing this, remember that Sandy Shocks can only use damaging moves with Assault Vest.

Another strategy I’ve used with Sandy Shocks is Terastallizing it to Ice Tera Type. This helps it on both offense and defense and has turned the tables on tough opponents on many occasions.

Sandy Shocks resistances explained in Pokemon

Sandy Shocks’ resistances in Pokemon include Flying, Poison, Rock, and Steel-types while it is immune to Electric-type attacks.

Backed with its high Defense, Sandy Shocks has time and again proved to be a great Pokemon to use against Bullet Punch users like Metagross and Scizor, as well as powerful Electric-type threats such as Miraidon, Raging Bolt, and Regieleki, thanks to its handy immunity.

Sandy Shocks strengths explained in Pokemon

Sandy Shocks does super-effective damage to Electric, Fire, Flying, Poison, Rock, Steel, and Water-type Pokemon with its STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) Ground and Electric-type moves.

Both Ground and Electric are great attacking types, and with Sandy Shocks’ impressive 121 Special Attack and 101 Speed, I’ve often surprised my opponents with what it can do!

While the Assault Vest set is defensive, I’ve also used Sandy Shocks offensively by taking advantage of its Protosynthesis ability, which boosts its Speed by 50% or any other stat by 30% under Sun or by carrying the Held Item Booster Energy. I’d recommend boosting Speed by maximizing its EVs, and with a base 101 stat in tow, it can outspeed many threats in the meta.

The choice between an attacking or defensive role depends on the composition of your team. While both are viable, the offensive set with Booster Energy is more unpredictable and likely to ‘shock’ your opponents!

Best Sandy Shocks moves in Pokemon

The best moves for Sandy Shocks in Pokemon are Spikes, Earth Power, Thunderbolt, and Tera Blast.

  • You can lay up to three layers of Spikes on the opponent’s side, damaging any non-Flying-type Pokemon when they switch in.
  • Earth Power is its go-to move, with a neat 90 base power and a 10% chance to lower the opponent’s Special Defense by one stage.
  • Thunderbolt is similar to Earth Power in power but it comes with a 10% chance of paralyzing the opponent instead.
  • Ice-type Tera Blast helps it deliver STAB super-effective damage to the mighty Dragon types and has often been key to winning some of the most intense battles.
