Hydreigon is one of the scariest Pokemon to face in Scarlet and Violet battles, so here’s all you need to know about its weaknesses, resistances, strengths, and best moves to beat your opponents easily.

Pseudo Legendaries are often key to winning intense Pokemon battles, as these powerhouses can even beat Legendaries without much effort. The Dark/Dragon-type Hydreigon has proved to be an asset in Scarlet and Violet, and you must be eager to use it against your opponents.

To help you become a top-notch Hydreigon trainer, here are the details on its weaknesses, resistances, strengths, and the best moveset to use in the most challenging Pokemon battles.

Hydreigon weaknesses explained in Pokemon

Hydreigon is weak to Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Fighting, and Ice-type attacks in Pokemon. Due to its Dark/Dragon-type combination, it is 4x weak to Fairy-type moves.

That said, you can Terastallize Hydreigon to Steel or Poison type to not only eliminate the Fairy-type weakness but also resist it. Also, either of these Tera Types ensures that Hydreigon cannot be poisoned after Terastallization.

Hydreigon resistances explained in Pokemon

Hydreigon resists Dark, Electric, Fire, Ghost, Grass, and Water-type attacks and is immune to Psychic and Ground-type attacks in Pokemon.

The immunity to Ground-type moves is due to its ability, Levitate, which helps it take zero damage from moves like Earthquake, Earth Power, Stomping Tantrum, etc. A handy trick that some players use is to give the Electric Tera Type to Hydreigon and remove every single weakness! But, having used Hydreigon in countless Pokemon Scarlet and Violet battles, the Steel or Poison Tera Type helps it more.

Hydreigon strengths explained in Pokemon

Hydreigon does super-effective damage to Dragon, Ghost, and Psychic-type Pokemon with its Dark and Dragon-type moves.

It has an incredible Special Attack stat of 125 and a Speed of 98, helping it destroy opponents with powerful moves like Draco Meteor and Dark Pulse. It has balanced stats all across the board, making it extremely flexible in battles and easy to fit into teams.

Best Hydreigon moves in Pokemon

The best moves for Hydreigon in Pokemon are Nasty Plot, Draco Meteor, Dark Pulse, and Flash Cannon/Earth Power.

  • Nasty Plot boosts Hydreigon’s already impressive Special Attach by two stages, turning it into a deadly sweeper.
  • Draco Meteor is a powerful Dragon-type move that can even do hefty damage to Steel-types that resist it. Keep in mind that this move debuffs Hydreigon Special Attack by two stages, so use it after a Nasty Plot or if you’re all set to switch out the Pseudo Legendary.
  • Dark Pulse is Hydreigon’s go-to move with a neat 80 base power and a 20% chance to make the target flinch.
  • Flash Cannon is Hydreigon’s secret weapon against Fairy-types, and with a +2 SpA from Nasty Plot, it can OHKO them with ease. If you rather want coverage against opposing Steel types, use Earth Power instead. But Flash Cannon is more reliable overall.
