The workplace is the last place anyone would expect to grind Pokemon Go but a sushi restaurant employee has created a “gang” of dedicated trainers, including their boss and workmates.

Pokemon Go is a leading Pokemon game enjoyed by fans from all over the world. While the gameplay is simple and fun, the community has often been frustrated with features such as Routes and Party Play, alongside issues in Raids and PvP battles.

That said, the popular game also has its share of positivity as evidenced by a player’s Pokemon Go grind which prompted their boss and workmates to join the bandwagon and turn into hardcore trainers.

Reddit user ‘follyplague,’ an opener at a sushi restaurant, shared their story in a post that highlighted how they convinced the restaurant owner and colleagues to turn into full-time Pokemon Go players, who defend Gyms, compete in Raids, and level up while “constantly playing at work.”

The boss seems to be grinding hard to level up while having fun with Pokemon names.

The OP explained that in an effort to defend a Gym from another workplace next door, they convinced the boss as well as colleagues to help get the job done.

But little did the OP expect that their new Pokemon Go friends would end up getting “addicted” to the game and go the extra mile in defending their Gym, as the boss “walked about 10 minutes to go take (the Gym).” They also added that “at least two (players) always have the game open.”

It looks like it’s working out well as the OP’s team has the upper hand over the other workplace whose employees are apparently fighting for the Gym as well.

Users lauded the boss by calling the restaurant owner “amazing,” while a person mentioned that “this sounds like an awesome workplace environment.” One player even wrote: “This is so fun, I wish my boss/coworkers all played Pokemon Go.”

If this wasn’t great already, a person shared a similar experience in the comments: “My boss and 1 coworker actually got 4-5 of us into it and then we introduced it to our partners so we kinda got like a little click of people now it’s real wholesome.”

After the recent fiasco concerning the Halloween 2023 event ending on a sour note, the Pokemon Go community is undoubtedly delighted to see these players enjoying the game.
