The Hidden Gems season of Pokemon Go keeps it loaded with in-game events for players to enjoy. After the 7th Anniversary Party, players will be able to celebrate the launch of Pokemon Go Plus+ with the Catching Some Z’s event. The celebration will have a debut alongside Raids, special wild spawns, and more.

Pokemon Go Catching Some Z’s event dates

The Catching Some Z’s event will take place from Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10 AM to Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 8 PM (local time) in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go Catching Some Z’s event debuts

The Pokemon Go Catching Some Z’s event will feature two debuts. Komala, the Drowsing Pokemon, will finally make its Pokemon Go debut alongside Snorlax wearing a nightcap.

Snorlax is the main character in Pokemon Sleep, a new mobile app that will come out in late July and will use the brand-new features added to the Pokemon Go Plus+ device. Players can expect more costumed Pokemon in Pokemon Go after the sleeping app launches.

Pokemon Go Catching Some Z’s event wild encounters

The Pokemon Go Catching Some Z’s event will highlight Pokemon related to sleep and laziness. The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild for the whole duration of the event:

  • Jigglypuff
  • Abra
  • Drowzee
  • Snorlax
  • Mareep
  • Teddiursa
  • Slakoth
  • Wooloo
  • Munna
  • Komala

Wooloo and Komala are the only Pokemon in the list that can’t appear as shiny in Pokemon Go. Since it’s debuting with this event, players won’t be able to catch shiny Komala just yet.

Catching Some Z’s Pokemon Go Plus+ Special Research

Pokemon Go players will get the chance to tackle a new Special Research, but there’s a catch. The only way to get the Catching Some Z’s Special Research is by pairing your game with the Pokemon Go Plus+ accessory.

The ultimate reward for completing this Research is an encounter with Snorlax wearing a nightcap.
